SYSTEM OF A DOWN Guitarist Preps New Band

SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian has told Gary Graff of Billboard.com that he is in the process of forming and writing songs for SCARS ON BROADWAY, which will start operating in earnest once Ozzfest wraps in mid-August. The band is shooting to have its debut album out in the summer of 2007. "I'm still kind of getting the whole band together at this point," Malakian told Billboard.com. "After I get back home from Ozzfest that's pretty much what I'll be focusing on. "I think a SYSTEM fan will be able to relate to the music, but there's a few different directions I want to take, whether it be a little bit more ethnic or sometimes electronic," he added. "There's just a few artistic directions I want to take with SCARS that I haven't taken with SYSTEM yet." Read more at Billboard.com.

To reply about the Casey Chaos comment. Isnt Chaos the biggest d-bag on earth? He doesnt give any money to the other band members, but he lets them live at his house. He spends hundreds of dollars on his record collection instead. Yeah Chaos is more of "a back stabbing,rip-off artist.....con-man."

I don't know if he came up with the name but last I heard him and Daron started the project together, wrote a bunch of songs, and daron used a bunch of the lyrics and song ideas him and Casey came up with on the last system album. I also heard Casey didn't get paid for anything... but I don't know if this is fact or rumor. If it IS fact then Darons everything you just called him.

it's true Casey Chaos is a douche bag.
I don't even like his music nut I was just pointing out that casey may of been the one that came up with the band name...hence Daron Malakian is a rip-off artist.....con-man.

Casey Chaos BETTER have something to do with this project. or I'm ripping Darron a new one when I see him at Ozzfest this year! Say what you will about Casey himself, but the man wound up "helping out" System of a Down on their last two albums with no money and no credit! Although, admitedly, the rectified credit when they reprinted the discs, but it is still widley considered that Casey never saw a dime from his writing for SOAD.

The beginning of the end for SOAD, in my opinion. They won't be a band by the end of the year at least. Especially with this side project being any indication that their days are numbered.
And Casey Chaos and Amen were never that great. Sorry.

..guess he tried out the terrain by singing with his whiny little voice and playing old school punk music as a way to ruin his bands fanbase, because system sure didn't sound like system on last years albums, seriously it was crap, his fans will NOT follow him to scars... system was a great band until Daron ruined it by putting too much of himslef into it in EVERY way he wanted to. He sang, he played, he played everybody else out of the band. SYSTEM OF A DOWN IS DEAD. And they are never coming back, catch them on thier farewell tour, this years Ozzfest, Daron said so himself. They shoulda QUIT before mezmerize and hypnotize, i woulda had some respect left for them... :(

Toxicity is a great album, one of my best. But then all of a sudden they started sucking MTV-Dick. Im NOT looking forward to more Mezmerize CRAP. Going new ways you say? "and sometimes electronic"... uh-oh.
