AUDIOSLAVE Ready To Start 'Fire' In July

Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE has set "Original Fire" as the first single from its upcoming third album, titled "Revelations". According to a label representative, the song is expected to hit radio stations around the middle of July. There's no official release date for the CD yet, although that is tentatively planned to arrive sometime in September.
AUDIOSLAVE recently canceled a summer tour of Europe in order to wait until the new album came out.
Guitarist Tom Morello told MTV.com a few months back that "Revelations" sounds like "LED ZEPPELIN meets EARTH, WIND & FIRE."
The group began recording the new disc while still on tour late last year in support of its second effort, "Out of Exile". Recording was finished in early spring, with a total of 16 tracks laid down.

Out of Exile was alright, but was kinda disappointing compared to their first album, which I enjoyed a lot. Hopefully this one won't be the same...

I wouldn't necessarily say that they suck. for the most part, both of their albums are good, with the exception of a few songs on each album that are pretty weak. what they need to do is focus more on the songs that rock harder while Chris uses more of his glass-shattering wailing. their mistake is when they come up with those sappy slower songs. I think they have the potential to be a more intense band than they are.

Great news! I do think it is a little soon..
I caught them on their last tour and they were AMAZING live. Doing old Soundgarden and RATM songs. I'll definitely catch them on their next tour.

this album doesn't bore the absolute living fuck out of me like all their others. seriously, this band, for the most part, are as dull as fucking dishwater. what happened? so much talent invested, such a meager return.
i disagree with the guy that complained about all the slow material. i actually think the 'soft' stuff is better than the 'harder' shit, which is quite pathetic when you consider the bands they came from.

Their heavy shit is killer, keep it down to one ballad an album like bands used to do. Remember the days when there was the 1 token ballad. 5 ballads is too much!

Maybe its about time that Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden got back together. Remember the good old days when they actually made great music like RATM's self titled and Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger.

so this means the radio stations has got the new playlists ready for the second week of july?
i don't know, i'm just guessing
where else would you get info of a songs name and release date, unless it's from the radio stations who get their playlists from the record companies way ahead of time, and keep feeding us the same songs until we puke, every song is nothing but a advertisement for you to buy it, recently the chili peppers very forgettable song was on every music tv network simultaneously for a week, hourly(yeah i have my tv on all the time...) And all over the radio, same shit gets played endless amout of times for several weeks and then never again, but new shit gets the same treatment, i don't listen to radio anymore, can't stand it, there's no variation whatsoever.

These guys lack the intensity of Rage. About as heavy as a feather pillow. Nothing lyrically or musically interesting happening here. A pop metal band with a little Seattle flavor.
The first album had some good songs, but they wore thin real quick.

i really like rage and soundgarden was pretty good, but i like audioslave too. it does get kinda dull to listen to after a while but it's great how they're jamming so much and writing so much new stuff, i'm looking forward to hearing (most of) it.

Can't wait for the newie! I was disappointed with the first album coz it woz a bit too mellow for my tastes. Out of Excile made up for it coz it was more like what I was expecting from the first one.

I won't have to wait for their 3rd album to come out to konw that it would be a total waste of money and effort to go out and buy it. What I mean is they already have 2 albums that don't hold much as far as being memorable is concerned...

until Tom Morello does a solo. "Man Or Animal", anyone? It could have been a killer rock song, but he totally destroys it with his shitty solo.
He does the shittiest solos on earth. Really.

My favorite guitarists are Blackmore, Iommi, Schenker, Ronson, Gibbons, Tipton & Downing...
Tom Morello has great riffs, but his solos really sucks most of the time.

Morello's solos do blow, for the most part. They were original ten years ago in Rage, but now he's done the same solos over and over and over! (How many freakin' times has he done the "turntable scratching" solo? At least three). When he does focus on actually playing the solo instead of making noise, it usually yields some hits ("Like a Stone", "Be Yourself" as someone mentioned before).
That being said, however, I love the band. I'm one of the three people in the entire world that wasn't at all disappointed with "Out of Exile". I think it was solid.
Out of those three, I'm the only one that actually loves "Heaven's Dead".
