OZZFEST 2006: Somerset Show Cancelled Due To Low Ticket Sales?

The July 14 Ozzfest 2006 date, originally scheduled to take place at the Float-Rite Park in Somerset, Wisconsin, has reportedly been cancelled, apparently due to "low ticket sales." However, it should be noted that this information has not yet been confirmed by the Ozzfest organizers, who are still listing the show on the Ozzfest.com web site. [UPDATE: Ozzfest.com has now confirmed that the Somerset show has been cancelled.] In other news, Ozzfest has just added the Brothers Grim Sideshow stage to the festival's notorious Village of the Damned at nine tour stops this summer. Billed as the "World's Greatest Collection Of Human Oddities, Strange People, Novel Entertainers," the Brothers Grim Sideshow will fit right in with the Village's eclectic array of tattoo artists, piercing booths, state-of-the-art video games and wickedly tempting vendors. The Brothers Grim Sideshow will be performing at the following Ozzfest dates: Jul. 11 - San Antonio, TX @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Jul. 16 - Chicago, IL @ First Midwest Bank Amph. Jul. 19 - Detroit, MI @ DTE Energy Music Theatre Jul. 21 - Columbus, OH @ Germain Amphitheatre Jul. 23 - Indianapolis, IN @ Verizon Wireless Music Center Jul. 27- Buffalo, NY @ Darien Lake Six Flags PAC Jul. 29 - New York, NY @ Randall’s Island Aug. 01 - Boston, MA @ Tweeter Center Aug. 09 - Raleigh, NC @ Alltell Pavilion @ Walnut Creek Aug. 13 - West Palm Beach, FL @ Sound Advice Amp

Line-up is not really interesting, SYL is OK and maybe some others worth the trip but most of it sucks and is not really something to look forward to. Boring DISTURBED!!!!!!

Look at that piss-poor excuse for a line-up. To think that a member of the mighty Sabbath would be associated with the so-called metal bands like the vast majority of the crap on this tour.
Outside of DragonForce, Lacuna Coil & SYL, I couldn't give two-shits about this mess. I was pissed that DragonForce was announced for Ozzfest & not on something like Gigantour (where they belong) until they announced an off-date headling show in Fort Worth, so now I get to catch a full DragonForce show and not have to put up with Shitfest...

Although I am glad somebody is still doing a rock/metal festival that travels the country...this line-up completely stinks...and it's not going to get better..all the veteran metal bands like Iron Maiden will never do ozzfest again after the sharon osbourne bullshit from last year...so don't expect much for cool, classic metal bands to be on the ozzfest tour in the near future...she is such a fuckin dumbazz...ozzfest could be the biggest festival of the year if she ran it right....but..the greedy bitch won't pay anybody...I used to work for a metal station in the upper midwest, and I was partying with edsil dope(edsil is an absolute nut.fun...but totally insane), vinny paul, an DimeBag (man am I glad I met him when I did..what an awsome dude..his brother too) from damage plan and Josey from Saliva(yeah I know some of you don't like saliva..but josey is a killer old school metal fan, and very cool to talk to ) anyways..josey...said he wanted to be on ozzfest a couple years ago...and sharon told him it would cost them $100,000 DOLLARS TO BE ON THE TOUR!!!!!!...he of course said no way....that is very lame...they charge the bands to appear at ozzfest....they do not get paid....wtf!!!..sharon is a greedy box

Maiden made a big mistake doing supporting act after 23 years of leading the rock music scene and headlining the biggest stages.
even during San Bernandino incident Maiden disappointed.
Bruce & Boyz should go up, set fire to a stage with their pyros and kick everybody assess with mind blowing with encore!!!

I went to Ozzfest every year from 1998-2005. Even the years when it didn't come to my town I'd take a roadtrip to go see it. Even if I had to sit through a bunch of crappy bands at least I knew Ozzy or Sabbath would be closing the night showing all the other bands how its done. There were a few years where Ozzy or Sabbath were really the main reason I went, such as in 2001. I think Sharon underestimates how many people Ozzy still draws to show and that ticket sales will probabkey be higher at the 10 shows he is playing this year than the rest of the tour. I mean when ever Ozzy does a non Ozzfest he sells out the venues or at least damn near sells them out. All you people who think Ozzy suck don't know whit. his voice isn't what it used to be, but he still puts on one hell of a show is is still probabley the best front man I have ever seen. I hate Sharon just as much as the rest of you guys. This is the first year where I really have no desire to go to Ozzfest. I bet more cancellations of Ozzfest dates for this summer will me coming soon.

Many people are boycotting Ozzfest this year because of the unresolved 357 Customs/Zakk Wylde/Naturally Wired Designs Scam. Here, people were never sent guitars, as part of the deal. Zakk has done nothing accept promise and then deny eventhough the deal was posted on his website. Several people have decided not to buy his endorsed merchandise, his CD's and even boycott Ozzfest. Time to step up Zakk and take responsibility!!!!

I bought my ticket last year for 80 fucking dollars and on the way home I heard on the radio they were going to cancel the show because Ozzy was sick or some shit. Yes I do realize that on the whole, the last 2 Ozzfest lineups have sucked some wicked ass. But come on. 04 was amazing. Such bands as Darkest Hour, Unearth, God Forbid, Lamb of God, and the incredible main stage of BLS, Superjoint Ritual, Dimmu Borgir, Slayer, Judas Priest, and Sabbath, I dont see how a metal show can get much better. Sharon has put on some amazing sets in her time, yet I certainly do not condone the actions of last year. Yet, Ozzfest will be a perennial favorite concert of mine for years to come, though I refuse to go this year. But 04 was a hell of an Ozzfest year.
