DRAGONLORD: U.S. Tour Cancelled

A management representative for DRAGONLORD — the San Francisco-based black metal band featuring Eric Peterson (guitar, vocals; TESTAMENT), Gian Pyres (guitar; ex-CRADLE OF FILTH), Derrick Ramirez (bass), Lyle Livingstone (keys) and Jon Allen (drums; SADUS, ex-TESTAMENT) — has issued the following statement:
"I have been informed that Gian Pyres, DRAGONLORD guitarist, has developed very bad tendonitis in his left hand. Accordingly, his doctor advises refraining from playing guitar for the immediate future for fear of more permanent damage. Therefore, he is not available for the scheduled DRAGONLORD tour and thus the DRAGONLORD tour must be postponed at this time. He apologizes for any and all inconveniences as does DRAGONLORD, and hopes that the tour can be rescheduled as soon as possible. At this time, due to the foregoing unforeseen problem, the DRAGONLORD tour from June 23, 2006 to July 8, 2006, is cancelled."
As previously reported, DRAGONLORD have been added to the upcoming Thrash Domination 2006 two-day mini-festival, set to take place on September 16-17 at Club Citta in Tokyo, Japan. Also scheduled to appear are VENOM, DEATH ANGEL, SODOM and ONSLAUGHT.
DRAGONLORD's sophomore album, "Black Wings of Destiny", was released in the U.S. in October 2005 via Escapi Music. The follow-up to 2001's "Rapture" (Spitfire Records) was recorded and mixed by Fredrik Nordström (HAMMERFALL, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Sorry to hear about Gian's condition, but maybe now this will get Eric focused on what's really important...namely a new Testament album.
He said he wanted to get the recording process started in the fall, so now maybe it can happen a bit sooner, because let's face it, this is what the Metal community is truly clamoring for and not Dragonlord.

oh shit...I've got tendonitis in my left hand too, and I just applied a few minutes ago this gooey cream the doctor told me to apply...I didn't think you could get permanent damage if you keep playing guitar...I can't stop playing mine no fucken way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK!

First DRI gets cancelled because Spike has cancer.
Then the Vital Remains show in Chicago gets cancelled because the promoter didn't have enough money to book it.
Now this!!!! I was looking forward to this show.
God help me if Blind Guardian gets cancelled.
