AEROSMITH guitarist
Joe Perry took part in the recording sessions for the new opening theme song for
"Monday Night Football". Last Friday (June 9)
Perry recorded his part at his studio, the
Boneyard, with assistance from his longtime tech
Jim Survis and new assistant engineer
Jon Lammi.
Joe put down about 18 solos and narrowed it down to three.
Little Steven Van Zant was the music director for the project and called
Joe and asked him to be part of it.
Joe flew down to Orlando on Tuesday, landing at 11:30 a.m. and in front of the cameras by 1:00 p.m. Also in the house were
Charlie Daniels,
Rick Nielsen,
Bernie Worrell and
Bootsy Collins,
Little Richard and, of course,
Little Steven Van Zant.
