AEROSMITH To Officially Announce MÖTLEY CRÜE Tour On Monday? - June 17, 2006
AEROSMITH's official fan club, Aero Force One, will make an official announcement regarding the band's fall touring plans on Monday, June 19. The group are expected to confirm that they will be teaming up with MÖTLEY CRÜE for a U.S. tour beginning in early September. So far, the following dates are being rumored (NOT yet officially confirmed) for the trek:

Sep. 05 - Columbus, OH @ Germain Amphitheatre
Sep. 07 - Hartford, CT @ TBA
Sep. 09 - Pittsburg, PA @ TBA
Sep. 14 - Holmdel, NJ @ TBA
Sep. 19 & 21 – Wantagh, NY @ Jones Beach
Sep. 23 - Camden, NJ @ Tweeter Center at the Waterfront *
Sep. 26 - Mansfield, MA @ Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts *
Oct. 05 - Tinley Park, IL @ First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre
Oct. 07 - Alpine Valley WI @ TBA
Oct. 13 - Noblesville, IN @ TBA
Oct. 15 - St. Louis, MO @ UMB Bank Pavilion
Nov. 12 - Phoenix, AZ @ TBA

* confirmed by Live Nation

The first rumblings of a possible AEROSMITH / MÖTLEY CRÜE pairing were heard in early January when CRÜE frontman Vince Neil revealed during an appearance on the "Opie and Anthony" show on XM Satellite Radio that the two bands would be hooking for a trek later in the year.

AEROSMITH are currently recording their new album with producer Steve Lillywhite, who has previously worked with U2 and MORRISSEY. The band were forced to cancel a bunch of shows on their spring tour after singer Steven Tyler suffered a broken blood vessel in his voice box.

MÖTLEY CRÜE are believed to have commenced the songwriting/demoing process for their new studio album with producer Bob Rock, who previously worked with CRÜE on their "Dr. Feelgood" and self-titled albums, as well as the three new tracks that appeared on CRÜE's two-CD "greatest hits" collection, "Red, White & Crüe" (which came out in February 2005). An early 2007 release is expected.

Ive never been a big Aerosmith fan, but ill give credit where credit's due, they can still Get It Dont Live.

Crue on the otherhand are absolutly brutal live and rely more on thier stage show now to distract the audience away from the fact that Vince Neil sounds like a Donky with a throte infection...

dude both aerosmith and motley crue's tours were majorly successful. Their live dvd is everywhere meaning it must be selling and "red , white and crue" went platinum and they even have the live cd now. I'm not a big Aerosmith fan , though. How many hit ballads can a band have.

Alimony and greed a propelling this tour.

All the attendees better be ready to pony up serious dough for a trip to the arena to see this tour.

want to change the venue of Oct. 7th Alpine Valley. In Wisconsin on Oct. 7 it can be anywhere from mid 60's during the day to 20's. At night it can be about 20's to low 50's at best. Not sure who is the jackass that put that date on it.

The Crue did NOT sell out each and every night. There times when they did 1/2 to 3/4 Full venues. 4-7,000 average.

"The Crue did massive sales on their last tour. Sold out shows each and everynight and NONE of them were in sheds."

Um, WHAT? I know for a fact that during March they were selling around 3,500 seats at 5,500 seat capacity venues. In fact, those figures were posted right here on Blabbershit. Most of the shows during the last half of the tour were hanging around 60% capacity, so do not be giving us that "sold out every night" bullshit.

Edit: I just saw what NemesisOne wrote, which is basically what I just wrote. Having Aerosmith on the bill is the only way Crue is going to have a draw.

the first leg of the RW&C tour was completely sold out. The second leg and the third leg did not sell as good as the first, but Motley still toured for more than a million people.

I'd like to see "Meshugga!!!!!!!!" do that.

Aeromsmith are pretty much washed-up... they are smart, they go out with bands that take in more ticket sales than they normally would do. First with KISS, now with the CRUE. How they still maintian they "headline" status?? I am going for the CRUE, whether they suck or not, rely on their satge-set, it will be an awesome show.
