In my opinion, the first two Maiden albums are the bands best. Don't get me wrong I love all Maiden but these first two are stand-outs. This compilation is just a waste of plastic. I can't beleive how much Di'anno has milked these songs over the years, he really needs to let it go and move on.

In my opinion, " Killers " is the best Maiden record and they should have done more records like that, with Dianno of course.
But about this record : 150 copies ? Strange. No, I wouldn' t buy it anyway.

If you have the first 2 Maiden CDs then you have all these songs done by Maiden who undeniably do Maiden songs better than any hired guns Di'Anno could ever find.
It's also been 25 years or so since he's been in Maiden. Time to get over it was long ago. How about a rerelease of Battlezone for fuck sake. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!

You clearly don't have a clue what your talking about. First off, Steve Harris pretty much writes everything for Maiden. Di'anno wasn't growing vocally and I think he had a drinking problem. Maiden couldn't see moving on with him they needed to grow and move on to a somewhat different direction...more progressive, oppose to the first two records...which had more of a punk feel. Di'anno just didn't have what it took to stick around. Personally I wish they had kept him. But, think about it with Dickinson they created progressive metal that's what their famous for they own that sound.

Why even make a recording if you are only going to release 150 copies? I'll bet they're pretty weak otherwise they would be out for wider distribution.

Yeah that is correct, Steve wrote most of the stuff before he even joined the band. Watch the 'Early Days' DVD. He did have a drinking problem then he started not to turn up for the concerts or the band practice so they showed him the door.

I thought this loser was in San Quentin prison getting bummed off the Crips. It should be Bruce Dickinson re-recording the old stuff, not that knob-head DiAnno.
There, I said it, I'll just sit back and wait for the hate mail from the so-called old school Maiden fans.
Face it, Dickinson OWNS DiAnno. Get over it.

When Maiden kicked off Paul D.( To launch The Number Of the Beast album worldwide with "new" lead singer ! )Steve Harris , in that period of Maiden , said Paul D. going crazy etc...enter Bruce D. and blah blah blah . Now, Paul D. have copyrights and can re-recording his tunes, why not? Paul have the copyrihts too ! The guy trying work with his old songs, its all. 48 tracks digital nowdays tecnology studio recordings? Sounds interesting... Can imagine you kicked off by Maiden, right before TNOTB World Tour?? hehe Peace.

Definitely, the first two Maiden albums are the best, ezpecially the first self-titled one.. That almost punky feel is what really makes them stand out. The later stuff with Bruce was obviously technically superior in both production and musical ability (as well as Bruce is a more gifted singer) BUT the Bruce albums seemed to become more and more sterile with each release. Don't get me wrong, I love all the Bruce albums too (up to 7th Son anyway) but there is just something about those first two.. They made Maiden into the legends they have become. As for Mr Di'Anno and his latset effort, I for one would be interested to hear what these songs sound like recorded with state-of-the-art technology.. They might lose their edge in the translation or the re-make might do them justice, we will see.. You can't blame Paul for what he's doing.. That's who he is.. the OLD Iron Maiden singer, no-one is interested in his original stuff. I'm sure Iron Maiden won't care if he prints 150 of these things coz I'm sure they've made all the money they're ever gonna make of these songs..

Although like I gave a fucking shit. Every time you a piece of news featuring Di'Anno, it's always rehashing some Maiden shit from 25 years ago. Yeah, I'd like to fuck my former girlfriend who dumped me too, but do I spend my days wanking over a picture of her? Hells no. Get a fucking clue, Di'Anno. You suck.

You don't get it do ya? This guy doesn't need to move on or find a new job does he? Same as you've never seen Krist Noveselic from Nirvana form another band have you. As with Paul Di'Anno his former collaboration with more gifted individuals has made him into a legend and he's milking it for all its worth.. And good on them.. I know I would! Nice analogy bout your ex-girlfriend tho.. Pretty funny stuff!

.... were among the best ever recorded by Maiden, sure Bruce is a better singer technically, but Paul launced Maiden with some of their finest songs ever and set them up to become the legends they are now considered to be. You guys should understand its a business, he owns the rights to those songs and by doing rereleases he gets paid and thats better than signing on the dole. If you arent interested in buying them don,t! I love all Maidens albums but I rate Pauls as two of the finest, they are grittier and more to the point and the lyrics are less fantasy based and more "real". Reub

Hmmmm Murders in the rue morgue, Prowler, Killers, Iron Maiden, Strange World ..these lyrics may be realistic..... to a schizophrenic off his medication! Not to mention the instrumental titles of Transylvania, Ghengis Khan to name just 2 ...yes they exist(ed) in reality but you could hardly say that their imagery was about going down to the local bar and going to work etc... they were just as "unrealistic" then as ever; it was Paul's limited vocal talents that are that "real" edge that the pro-DiAnno people rave about. Once they cut his dead weight and got a real talent they became everything they could be!
