VAN HALEN Brothers EDDIE And ALEX Jam With KENNY CHESNEY In California: Photo Available - June 19, 2006
Eddie and Alex Van Halen joined country artist Kenny Chesney on stage during his Saturday, June 17 appearance at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. They reportedly performed two songs — "Jump" and "You Really Got Me" — with Kenny handling the lead vocals in the former and lead guitarist Clayton Mitchell singing the latter. Check out a picture of Kenny and Eddie rocking out on stage at this location.

Former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth — who hasn't seen Eddie Van Halen for years — has implied in recent interviews that they have been talking again and their management are involved in putting the group back together.

Roth said: "I see it absolutely as an inevitability. It would be very simple to put together. I definitely see it happening."

I'm sure this will be the first and last Kenny Chesney reference on Blabbermouth.net. Then again, I can say with all honesty that three years ago, I never would have expected there to be frequent postings regarding Jada Pinkett Smith either.

Either way, it's good to hear some updates on my favorite cousin Eddie. He doesn't come around very often these days.

Sincerely,

It'll happen soon enough. Too much money involved for it not too. It will be the Fleece-The-Fans and Pad the Retirement Tour.

It'll also be great for all those people too young or for those who want to relive a little of their past. First time I saw Van Halen in 1979, tickets were $8.50. You can pretty much count on tickets being 10 times that much, easy, and those will be the nose bleeds.

Enjoy!

You are certainly blessed with a large extended family. And very spread-out, too. You grew up in Sweden... but have reletives in The Netherlands (where Eddie was born). I suppose you'll tell me you know Dutch too, in addition to English, Swedish, and German. My friend, you are certainly a man of the world!

Yet, you totally failed to mention that you're related to Jada, as she's your fourth cousin twice removed! I saw that photo album, chap.
Sad part is, I bet Kenny's version of "Jump" was probably better than David Lee Roth's despicable "bluegrass" rendition on the Tonight Show.

Riding_The_Storm - my large family is one of my many blessings.

Scar Symmetry - I don't take insults seriously unless they're spelled correctly. As I said to you previously, I would find it hard to believe that you are any older than 3 years old. Grow the fuck up, THEN try to bash me.

Regarding your post - "inconcievable" is not a word.

Perhaps you meant "inconceivable."

Always remember this rule: "I before E, except after C." Now, this rule doesn't always work (ex: the word "weird"), but most of the time, it does.

Anyway, the VH reunion CAN'T happen, because Michael Anthony is no longer in the fold. He's too tight with Hagar to step back on stage with Roth and the asshole brothers.

Shit, there used to be a time when VH was doing arenas. It's just sad to see a great band turn into complete bullshit. These guys used to kick so much ass, now they just suck it.

VH1 should grab Eddie for the next season of Supergroup. This will ____.

A) provide great entertainment as his drinking runs rampant
B) show the world that what a controlling asshole he is (or hopefully is not)
C) work as an intervention to get his career back on track
and/or
D) prove to the world that he truly is the greatest guitarist on Earth

with all the crap around Van Halen in the last 10 years I think they blew their chances. Eddie didn't want Mike in the for the 2004 reunion with Sammy because he was performing with... Sammy...how crazy is that? Mike did the tour for a lower cut of the cash staying loyal to the VH institute.

When Van Halen fell apart again due to Eddie's 'habits' - Sammy and Mike cut the cord - I think that was final. I hope Mike will keep his word and that there won't be a money bag big enough.

A Roth / Van Halen reunion doesn't stand a chance...with or without Mike. Sure they will sell some and be warned VERY expensive tickets but the shows won't be as great. Dave doesn't have it anymore and Eddie's a paranoid shadow of himself. Alex? Hahaha, when did he ever do something for himself? He's Eddie's pet brother...

I never thought I would say this but a VH reunion should be boycot! The Supergroup idea is a good one, new chances...

Y'all seem to forget that Roth performed w/ Travis Tritt on YFLM. "Cheatin' Heart Cafe". "The closest to a cow she'd come was eating at McDonalds". All these country yahoos are completely interchangable. Perhaps the VH sisters mistook Chesney for a bluegrass performer.

Reunion, no reunion, we will all survive one way or another. But maybe, MAYBE EVH will get his teeth fixed if there's a reunion and it makes enough money.

They have said it for 20 years now of how they are going to tour together again. Yes, it would be fantastic for the hardcore fans like myself. However, if Eddie and Alex still cannot get along with Sammy and Michael who are like the most layed back and coolest guys to hang with, how in the hell are the brothers going to get along with Diamond Dave?? If it happens, it won't be for too damn long. I just want Eddie to release a solo album, shredding away into the stratosphere.

I am a big Eddie Van Halen fan, but I am sad that he felt the need to collaborate with Kenny Chesney. Chesney and his generation of fellow artists are an abomination to country. Its watered down and too "pretty". Where's the Waylons, Willies, Johnnys and Hanks when you need them? I've heard from a few interviews that Eddie is in another world. He has allinated himself from his fellow musicians and a lot of friends.

Eddie needs to dig up his old mandolin (the one he had in early Eighties photos) so he too can join in the bluegrass/country thing. If the guitar is the meat whistle in rock, the mandolin plays a similar role in bluegrass. The only thing is ... the tension on the strings are a little too tight for tapping.
