Metallica and AIC are a perfect match; they're both lame parodies of formerly great bands.

Absolutely no pocket or groove at all. I bet Sean was laughing backstage. I have seen third graders play better than this douche. Amazing what winning the lottery can do for a horrible drummer.

I dont know why they hired this singer,,,hes fucking flat and sharp all over the place,,truthfully the guy (chris daughtry) from american idol would have been a way better choice,,I think its the "we got a black singer" thing,,hes really not good in anything Ive seen yet..these videos really show the truth although the sound quality blows!!!!!!!!

As someone stated earliear. The man has never said he´s a kickass drummer. He knows his limits, for sure. He´s just having fun man.
Gotta say though, as an old drummer myself - Lars was kickass in Estonia few weeks ago. He´s not as bad as many wants him to be.

Does Jerry Cantrell let clearly inferior musicians from clearly inferior bands desecrate the stage by playing alongside AIC? As far as Lars goes, Phil Rudd is one of the best "in the pocket" drummers ever; Lars better put in more work (and I'm being charitable). SlayTera's definitely making a good point.

Without their old singer, they will never live up to their old music. Which is sad. And now everyone must judge their new music alongside their old music, which is the worst way to do it.

And damn, Lars is playing a song he probably hasn't rehearsed more than 3 times, give him a break.

If you don't think the drumming on "...and Justice for All" is technical, then you obviosuly don't know shit about drums. Any metal drummer knows that album is a masterpiece.

As for Lars bagging out AIC in '94? I find it hard to believe that Lars would have said anything harsh about the band since both bands were good friends since the early 90's. Lars was even friends with Layne Staley. If he said anything to that nature, he was simply joking around. The whole reason Lars plays a smaller drum kit these days is because he used to jam with AIC and use Sean's kit and he preferred it to his own.

If I remember correctly, James even played the opening riff to this very song, and followed it up with "Fuck, he's cool."
At least it was pointed out by someone who is so control of his shit, that rehab will never be in his future!
Whats lost in all of this is that at least when Philip H. comes out to sing with AIC there is a sense of believability that just isn't there when this Abercrombie & Fitch knockoff tries to sing "Down in a Hole" or "Would"

I think Cantrell is a great guitarist, and I'm a long time fan of AIC, but this reunion baffles me. I lost some respect for Jerry for touring with the AIC moniker. First Queen, and now this? It's got to stop. This would be like Mick Jagger touring with the Stones after Keith Richards is dead......

The "New Lead Singer" is William Duvall from another band, kick ass might I add, called Comes With The Fall. He has been touring with Jerry for the past six years or so just to sing Layne's vocals. He is no Layne and he would be the first to admit it, but He wasn't picked because he was black, and he isn't trendy, and he isn't an Abercrombie and Fitch knock off. Please everyone, just read the recent Jerry Cantrell interviews. He is a happy man who loves music and is just going with the flow and what feels natural. ALl of the guys that come on stage and play with him are all his friends etc. The new Singer, Duvall has been in a band "Comes With the Fall" and I saw them open for Jerry Cantrell in 2001. They are tight buds and it just feels right. Of course Layne is gone and noone can fill his shoes. I think The rest of AIC needs to clense their sould by doing all these shows, and maybe in time they will write a new album or something, who knows. Just let them have fun, and you guys try to have fun too. Enjoy the magic and quit complaining every chance you get.

...but in the unlikely event AIC comes to New Zealand, I'll be front row centre. And I think it speaks volumes that they've had so many singers (Pat Lachman, Maynard Keenan, etc) try to cover the ground that Layne himself did. He may have had an ultimately life-destroying habit, but if anything, he came across as a genuinely nice guy and a tragic soul, which is more than I can say for the likes of Kurt Cobain. Rest in peace, Layne...

Then again I'm sure Lars cares what internet posters on Blabbermouth think of him.

Inferno (BEHEMOTH)
Richard Christy (formerly of DEATH)

LARS isn't shit against them. Really, the dude is past his prime, and should stop pretending like he is the almighty drum god. That title sits with HOGLAN, by far. What can I say, Gene is the FUCKING KING!!!
