AEROSMITH Members To Join Boston Pops on July 4 - June 23, 2006
Geoff Edgers of The Boston Globe is reporting that AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry will headline this year's nationally televised Boston Pops concert on the Esplanade on July Fourth.

This isn't the first time AEROSMITH's leaders have been wooed by the Esplanade concert organizers. In 2004, an attempt to sign up AEROSMITH fizzled when the band couldn't work out a way to play Boston between the end of its North American tour and the start of its dates in Japan.

"It just didn't come together, but Steve Tyler and I were talking, and we want to make it happen at some point," Pops conductor Keith Lockhart said at the time.

This is one of those dream shows for the artist...like the first time Billy Joel played NSG or Shea Stadium.

Aerosmith will always be Boston and this is bigger than playing the old "GAAA-DIN" back in the day. Why they have not played Fenway Park, I have no idea....

The best way to get close to this without camping out is to be in a boat On the Charles River.
