SLASH Shoots Down GUNS N' ROSES Reunion Rumors

Former GUNS N' ROSES/current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash has shot down endless months of rumors that he will rejoin Axl Rose in the band he helped create. Stories had been rife that Slash, real name Saul Hudson, would play with the band at their recent New York shows. However, the guitarist told MTV.com: "I don't know where [the rumors come] from, but I haven't dealt with GUNS N' ROSES any more than I have in the last 10 years," which is not much at all. So it's not really a thing with me. I have, in the foreseeable future, no re-involvement with that band whatsoever." Slash is currently working with VELVET REVOLVER on their forthcoming second album, the follow-up to 2004's double-platinum "Contraband". "We're in preproduction and it sounds amazing," Slash told MTV.com. "I'm just really excited 'cause hopefully we'll get this thing out before the year's over. The material is amazing and ... we've grown so much as a band." While frontman Scott Weiland has called the material a concept album and bassist Duff McKagan said the band will record with a variety of producers, all Slash would reveal is that the LP is coming together naturally, and "it's not phony in any way, shape or form, and the band's whole-heartedly into it. "I don't want to say [anything specific about] the songs, but the name for the album is 'Libertad', which is Spanish for 'liberty,' " Slash said. "It's something that we feel strongly about: liberty, freedom, you know ..." Read more at MTV.com.

were always overrated and nothing more than a hype. The 'guy' Axl is crap, ridiculous attitude and worse voice. Stay with your own real band Slash & Duff, you don't need GNR, Axl does...

but it would enable Axl to continue to suck. He was always the weak point of the band. Don't you think? With all the "problems" and "delays". I went through a joke of a show one time with them and Metallica way back. I have lost all respect for Axl since that point. My opinion. At least VR can tour without Scott walking off the stage in the middle of a song and leaving the band on stage to play the song without vocals.

i'll sort of agree with dead skin, there is no replacing gnr however i do like vr and i think if izzy joined them and brought his writing talent they could be that much better. appetite will always remain as one of my fav. cassettes/cds ever, one you can let play all the way through and never press the fast forward.

this band sucks....scott weiland is burnt out.....slash and duff and matt.....time to exit stage left....you know what i'm saying.....this is what you been waiting for......you know where you belong....izzy is the guy who could make this happen.....time to put the bullshit behind you....it's water under the bridge....axl seems to be a little more mature now....i think axl is realizing the fuckin ego he had destroyed one of the best bands ever....time to bury the hatchet.....this is what the fans want...... i bet this will happen,this will be the last velvet revolver record i willing to bet....if the original g-n-r isn't reunited minus steven adler...in three years i will be suprised.............. how many freakn times has there been a post on here with the title SLASH DENIES GNR REUNION RUMORS... ?? i've seen it at least a half a dozen times... NO MEANS NO, BLABBERMOUTH!!!
totally agree with DeadSkin Mask... VR is average at best... and honestly.. the few times i've heard Axl sing lately... a GNR reunion would be amazing... but Axl doesn't have it anymore.

...he pleaded guilty to the February 10 California charges of having sex with a minor and was sentenced to a year in California prison. After spending late February to late September 2005 in California prison, Eisen was released and due for an October 7, 2005 arraignment in New Jersey on the February 24 charges.

But they are more authentic than new GNR could ever be!
How could there be a GNR reunion when Axl can't sing anymore? Even if Slash and Axl worked things out, it would only take one rehearsal for slash to see that Axl has absolutely NO voice left and he'd probably call the whole thing off.
Slash is better off without Axl!

Who the fuck let Weiland pen a concept album? The guy hasn't written one song that has made a lick of sense in 15 years. His songwriting is the downfall -- just look at the lyric sheet in Contraband. The vocals don't match the directness of the hard rock. This is the problem with Velvet Revolver, yet they're accentuating it with a fucking concept album. Oh god no!

You guys who are bashing vr are just clinging on to the past of GN'R, stop it. Guns and roses is dead, at leas the old version. Whatever happens with the new g&r happens, but from what iv'e heard by them, its nothing compared to the old one, without slash and duff thier nothing, it's just axle's solo project that he nanmed g&r just for a little boost in profit. VR is something completely different and my opinion on them is that they are pretty dece,t at least for a super group. A G&R reuinion would probably be horrible because they have no chemmestry anymore, they all hate each other so let it go and stop comparing somethin that doesnt even exist anymore.

the new guns n roses in my opinion sucks ive always loved the 80's early 90's version of guns n roses they rocked but now axl has fuk'd it all up. i like velvet revolver better than the new guns n roses, they just sound better! but the lyrics confuse me, so i dont really pay any attention to them i pay more attention to the guitar work. makes it easier to listen to ( but to be honest, i dont think that velvet revolver will be reaching rolling stones standard any time soon, mind u i still love duff and slash) !!!!! ;)
