Former IRON MAIDEN Drummer CLIVE BURR Speaks - June 24, 2006
MaidenNorway.com recently conducted an interview with former IRON MAIDEN drummer Clive Burr. An excerpt from the chat follows:

MaidenNorway: And back in the days, Paul [Di'Anno] said that you and Dave Murray and him were like tight and best friends.

Clive Burr: "We were. We were best friends. [remembering]"

MaidenNorway: Yeah, and Steve [Harris] was a bit outside, it was you three and [the other guys].

Clive Burr: "Yeah."

MaidenNorway: What about Dennis?

Clive Burr: "Dennis was cool, you know, he was OK as well."

MaidenNorway: 'Cause Paul Di'Anno didn’t have very much positive things to say about Dennis, but you like him. He's a nice bloke right?

Clive Burr: "Definitely. [smiles]"

MaidenNorway: How about any other MAIDEN members, you have any contact with the guys?

Clive Burr: "Yeah I do, hmmm, Adrian mainly."

MaidenNorway: On the phone or e-mail or something?

Clive Burr: "No, he comes around to my place."

MaidenNorway: That's nice.

Clive Burr: "And, you know, I have, long talks with him. He's a real nice guy."

MaidenNorway: But like Blaze Bailey, do you know him?

Clive Burr: "No."

MaidenNorway: What did you think when he replaced Bruce Dickinson? You think it was the right choice for IRON MAIDEN?

Clive Burr: "No."

MaidenNorway: You didn't like him as a singer in MAIDEN?

Clive Burr: "No. [laughs]"

Maybe they should tape a drumstick to his head and see what happens? I'm sure it'll be far more entertaining than Dianno's last record.

He probably would have ended up one of metal's premier drummers. His work was just fast, complex and amazing for what was going on at that time. I had the honor of seeing Maiden on the Killers tour in 1980 with DiAnno and Burr, what an amazing time for metal.

Jesus, this is like those interviews Chris Farley would do on SNL in the old days! The difference is that those were INTENDED to be funny.

"Hey"
"uh... hey"
"Remember when you were with Iron Maiden?"
"Uh, yeah."
"..."
"..."
"Dude, that was awesome!"
"Yeah... I suppose"

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, inflammatory disease that affects the neurons, the cells of the brain and spinal cord that carry information, create thought and perception and allow the brain to control the body. MS can cause a variety of symptoms, including changes in sensation, visual problems, muscle weakness, depression, and difficulties with coordination and speech.

I've always preferred his drumming over McBrain's. The loose, thunderous style of Burr's playing is a big part of the first 3 albums, all of which are classics.

Clive's suffering from MS. He's in a wheelchair. It's not easy for him to speak, and very difficult for an interviewer to ask questions. Maybe you all should think before speak. My mother got MS, but not in a severe form like Clive's. This interview made me understand how bad are his conditions.

Here's another one of those threads that clearly shows that 90% of the Blabbermouth posters are total idiots and I suspect that the majority of them are pathetic and ignorant US-americans.

The sad thing is, an ill Clive Burr still makes makes more sense than these stupid fucks.

I'm not defending the twats that post on Blabbermouth, but why is it that some Euro-trash fuck has to always try to blame everything on the Americans? That is just as ignorant as what the idots post around here. Does it really matter where said morons are from?
