KITTIE To Enter Studio In July

Canadian metal band KITTIE will be entering a New Jersey studio on July 15 with producer Jack Ponti ( BON JOVI, DORO, SKID ROW, ALICE COOPER) to begin recording their new album, tentatively due in early 2007 through the band's own label, Kiss of Infamy Records. Kevin Shirley ( IRON MAIDEN, DREAM THEATER) has been tapped to mix the effort, which will mark the band's first full-length release since the band's split with longtime home Artemis Records. As previously reported, a video interview with KITTIE and three live video clips of the band performing at the Knitting Factory in New York City on their recent U.S. tour have been posted online at LIETV.com. The trek gave audiences their first glimpse at the band with new bassist Trish Doan and guitarist Tara Macleod joining KITTIE mainstays Morgan Lander (guitar/vocals) and Mercedes Lander (drums). KITTIE's downloadable EP, entitled "Never Again", was released in February through Rock Ridge Music. iTunes is offering an exclusive four-track version of the EP, which includes bonus track "Everything That Could Have Been". KITTIE have sold more than a million records since the release of their debut, "Spit", in 2000, which was followed by 2001's "Oracle" and 2004's "Until the End", with several EPs in between.

this is going to kick ass. If you watch the live performances, you can see there improvement, but people on Blabbermouth seem to jump on the bandwagon and just diss this band.
Mercedes stated on HBB last night that she even likes reading these comments about her band(Kittie). So really talk away, it just gives her humor.

I didn't like Until the End too much, too much of a step-back to me. Orcale is looking more and more like their best disc, and some of the best material I've heard from them. I sincerly hope the new one kicks ass.

Did you hear the new metallica track???...sounds to me like they are going back to the old days...sounds much more like old metallica..I'll agree their recent stuff is a pathetic attempt to gain favor with the nu-metal crowd, and I haven't cared much about metallica since 1993...BUT...every band goes through stages like this..they stray, experiment, try new things...and then always come back to their roots...who cares if they cut their hair???.."it's the man that makes the hair not the hair that makes the man"..if they would have cut their hair before the black album..would any of you gave two shits??? They sound like an elephant fart through an amplifier...horrid....those girls need to learn how to play their instraments better before they record another record....their ideas are good....they need to make the lyrics match the music...it sounds dis jointed... they are imaged all wrong...their management isn't selling them to the record companies or the public, the way they should be....they also have nothing radio friendly...not that being radio friendly is always a good thing...but being an all female metal band...being radio friendly would help them...basically make them marketable...which would get them a bigger record deal...and more money means..they can get the help they need with their song writting..PD's at rock stations won't play them...kittie is a big joke to the good ol boys network...they simply aren't good enough musically to be taken serious...it's the old "see...girls can't play rock and roll"...Here is what I would do if I was managing this band...number one would be to tighten them up musically..meaning lots of practice 5 days a week...tweaking their sound a bit as we go....then I would bring somebody like Lemmy Kilmeister to help them with their writting, and song structure..after that it's record a 5 track ep ...change their image a bit...they don't have to be pretty..but they do have to be sexy, yet still be metal...(they need to get the guys attention, yet not lose the female fans, ala lita ford)..a tough yet, non lesbo image..then it's hit the record companies...and start shipping the eps to pds at major market rock stations)...seriously ..it can be done...but they need alot of work...I blame their management...they should be better, and bigger than they are right now.
