OZZY OSBOURNE: 'Crazy Train' Ringtone Certified Platinum

OZZY OSBOURNE's ringtone for "Crazy Train" has been certified platinum after having been downloaded a million times, according to the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
Eighty-four titles have been certified gold, 40 platinum, and four multi-platinum. What's striking is how completely hip-hip and/or youth-oriented performers dominate the list. For older acts among the multi-platinum and platinum acts, you've got AC/DC (for "Back In Black") and OZZY OSBOURNE.
Any original recording that's been downloaded 500,000 times or more for a ringtone the RIAA now certifies as gold; a million times, platinum; and two million, multi-platinum.
An Ozzy "insider" recently revealed to Rockdetector.com that although Osbourne is making several Ozzfest appearances this summer, the BLACK SABBATH frontman is "simultaneously working on two album projects (one being released in November) and he's about to head out on tour this summer followed by 10-month world tour which commences in December."

Of course they do. Think about it... a song costs $1 to download, a ringtone costs $5 to download, and it's probably a 6th as long as a song if that. One single ringtone costs 1/3 of what an entire album costs.
That's some big money to be made.

I love Ozzy and I respect what he has accomplished over the years and I wish to take nothing from his musical legacy. But it's time to put Ozzfest in it's place.
This used to be a festival that was about breaking new, cutting edge music and delivering the top heavy metal artists in a manner that was fan friendly. The Ozzfest that was, is no more. If we, the heavy metal music fans, stand back and say FUCK YOU to the corporate mess Ozzfest has become, a lot can be gained. If all of the readers here boycott Ozzfest, we will make a difference. Nothing will wake up the powers that be more than lagging ticket sales. Hatebreed is the only good thing about Ozzfest this year, and even they are not playing in the proper setting. Having them take a backseat to shitty bands like Avenged Sevenfold and System Of a Down just shows why Ozzfest needs to be no more. If you haven't seen Hatebreed from 25-50 away in the middle of a fierce mosh pit, then you haven't experienced Hatebreed.
Sharon and Clear Channel have taken a big dump on all the underground metal fans and it is time for us to stick the shit right back in their face.
If you truly love heavy metal and great music, then it is your duty to avoid this mess. FUCK OZZFEST.
