Dylan Welch of
The Sydney Morning Herald has issued the following report:
A happy snap (
photo) taken in a London pub by a young music industry wannabe, may have unmasked a serial identity thief with a penchant for
AC/DC.
He is short, shambolic and cuts a decidedly unremarkable figure during hearings at Downing Centre Local Court. But is he the elusive identity thief responsible for ripping people off for tens of thousands of dollars for almost a decade? Meet
George Karounis. Or just possibly
George Young. Or
George Kay. Or
Jack Albert.
Does that second name sound familiar?
George Young, the real
George Young, is the famous former
EASYBEATS guitarist, older brother of the mega-group
AC/DC's
Angus and
Malcolm Young, as well as the band's producer. He co-wrote such
EASYBEATS hits as
"Friday on My Mind", and
"Love Is in the Air" by
JOHN PAUL YOUNG.
But could the other
George,
Karounis, be the man who has been roaming the world as the real Young, organising a huge
AC/DC concert at Uluru, selling
AC/DC concerts to Finnish jazz festivals and even persuading Londoners to part with their hard-earned for promised careers in the music industry?
