METALLICA: All Nine 'Escape From The Studio '06' Concerts Available For Download

According to a posting on METALLICA's official web site, all nine shows from the band's recent European "Escape From The Studio '06" tour are now available for download via the LiveMetallica.com web site. "Check out Berlin with the first-ever performance of 'The New Song' or maybe Donington, which includes a performance of 'Nothing Else Matters' with Jerry Cantrell [ ALICE IN CHAINS] on vocals," the posting reads. "All nine shows have the complete 'Master of Puppets' album played live and of course each show has its own unique vibe and local flavor." The following METALLICA "Escape From The Studio '06" shows are currently available for download: Jun. 03 - Rock Am Ring Festival - Nurburgring, GER Jun. 04 - Rock Im Park - Nurnberg, GER Jun. 06 - Waldbuhne - Berlin, GER Jun. 08 - Gelredome - Arnhem, NETH Jun. 10 - Download Festival - Donington, UK Jun. 11 - Download Festival - Dublin, IRE Jun. 13 - Song Festival Grounds - Tallin, EST Jun. 15 - Novarock Festival - Nickelsdorf, AUT Jun. 17 - Heineken Jammin Festival - Imola, ITA For more information, visit Metallica.com. During a June 13 press conference preceding their performance at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds in Estonia, METALLICA's James Hetfield said that the songwriting sessions for the group's forthcoming album are "coming along exactly as [they] should. We're not rushing too much. [We're] taking our time. We want this to be just really good. We have a lot of material, which is better than the other way around. We're going to be [at it] a little while. Rick Rubin is the producer, who's done very amazing things with people. So we're pretty excited about his input." Drummer Lars Ulrich recently told BBC Radio 1 that the band's new album's going to be in stores in the summer or early fall of 2007. "I think we've realized that the creative process works a little slower for us than it used to, and we're OK with that," he said. "It's not a bad thing, unless, of course, you're waiting for a record."

The reason they sued Napster was because they were told to by Elektra a subsidiary of Warner Bros. who claimed they were losing billions and recruited My-Turd-Licker to be the poster boys of what's wrong with the music industry when indeed it was the music industry who was fucking up by charging $17-20 per CD. If music was cheap enough to begin there would be fewer downloaders. There would still be people looking for anything free because hey, as a people we're scavangers and basically human beings hate to work for anything. But to defend these tools over a song is frankly bullshit. When My-Turd-Licker did what they did regarding Napster they became corporate tools and therefore it ceased being about the music and became all about the money and what better way to push sales and promote themselves than go after their fans and service that basically promoted their material for free.
MYTURDLICKER has betrayed their fans musically and morally for so long that they've become the prime example of how success and ego and rip a good thing down an entity that has no integrity nor moral or musically value whatsoever. Holding on to the pipe dream that this band will ever return to the form it once possessed is like believing that someday you'll win the lottery.

Suppose nobody (zero people) bought a Kreator, Exodus, Nile, Emperor, etc, WHOEVER album, but downloaded them instead. I know that would never happen, but just suppose. Then, these bands, who only sell at most in the tens of thousands anyway would have nothing to show for their time and effort, and that would be sad because talent and hard work should be rewarded if said talent and hard work improves the lives of others. Sure, Metallica didn't need the money that was leeched from them, but it's the principle of someone working hard and not getting paid for it, and also the principle of someone stealing your work before it's finished. I will gladly pay money for a cd, concert ticket, concert video, etc because that is how I show my support and thanks for a band that I like.

Would rather pay a little and get good quality recordings then some of the bullshit bootlegs I've heard. I bought Donnington. The New Song sounds like a leftover from the last cd. Jerry Cantrell butchers Nothing Really Matters really, really bad. I've got an internet station that plays old school metal and southern rock http://www.live365.com/stations/alligatorjackson I've got about 5 tunes from the Donnington download on the playlist including the New Song.

The last album I bought was the Black album when it came out and I got bored of it quick. I haven't bought any of their stuff since then. Listening to Metallica is what little children do before they find the really good metal shit. After you find the good shit, you notice that Metallica sucked all along. Oh yeah, I'm not buying their new crap either.

Yeah, Metallica was good, that' s that old story ... they were good when Cliff Burton was in the band and Master of puppets is a good record and blah blah ... that was a LONG time ago. It certainly is not reasonable to wait that Metallica would do something like " Master " again. The time is different, they are different people now ... they' re not hungry anymore, they don' t really want anything anymore. Maybe they' re just too happy. I mean, if nothing pisses you off then you just can' t make good metal music.

they simply lost sight of the real reason anybody starts a band; free booze and getting laid. Occasionaly some of them want to try and change the world or make a difference somewhere along the line. Selloutica used to mean something to me. Now they mean nothing. What you smell is the desperation of 15 minutes almost being up.

Have been a alternative rock band since 1995. That was like 11 years ago.
When a band sells out... they do you a big favor???, just one less recording artist to fumble through your wallets and bank accounts.
Metallica is not the only band to totally change music genres all the way, from heavy metal to rock and roll...Fans of The Gathering (GODS), Ulver and Therion know what I am talking about.
With all the complaining about no NWOBHM-styled thrash metal being around, seems like the perfect opportunity to start a bay area crunching thrash metal band ?????

Pyogenesis was another band that changed. They tarted as melodic death metal band and became a gay pop band like No Doubt.
I didn't mind The Gathering changing but the music got boring. Therion changed for the better because they would've been a generic death metal band.
Change or a natural evolution is fine. It's when it's a sudden change that things go wrong. What if Cannibal Corpse suddenly cut their hair, standard tuned their guitars, started singing and playing Green Day songs?

Alot of these people seem to not have a fucking clue. Alot of these people who bash metallica are the same people who think black/death groargroar shit vocals are the best thing to enter there lives. They spill out half assed retorts that don't make much sense or feed into insults directed at them to gain more ground.
I love metallica, I support them 100% I fucking think the new song is brilliant compared to there other recent works.
I'm not going to sit here and bash this band to make myself look like a metal leetist/fit in/because it's cool to do so, and by doing it I'll gain the worthless respect of people with limited knowledge of metal.
You can sit there, reply to this, and negate the fact I listen to more metal than you just because I listen to metallica. It won't get you far. It will only show that what I said had some effect on your worthless mind.
