GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist : 'Everyone Is Looking Forward To The Record Finally Being Released'

GUNS N' ROSES news site GunsNRoses.us has posted the following message from GNR guitarist Richard Fortus:
"The [European] shows have been going well. Axl's [Rose] voice is better than ever. Everyone is looking forward to the record finally being released. We are all very excited.
"Thanks to you and to all of the fans that haven't given up on us! This is the year!"
As previously reported, GUNS N' ROSES looks likely to return for more U.S. shows this autumn, possibly starting in September, according to a press release. Following the band's recent four-night stand in New York City, their first live shows since late 2002, Rose said, "We've just finished our four shows in New York and had an amazing time. New York has always been special and it feels great to be doing this again particularly in front of so many friends. I am very excited about Europe and getting back over here in September."
The group, which features no original members from its classic lineup other than Axl, began a run of European festival shows on May 25.
Rose has been saying that the band's long-delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy", will be out later this year.

I hope you didnt just Make fun of Buckethead & "Brain".
Buckethead was the most talented musician in "Axl's GnR Cover Band". Im glad he walked out on him.
Does anyone know if any of the tracks that were recorded by Mr.Buckethead will apear on the final album, or did they re-do all the guitar parts?

*DEADSKIN mask - I heard Bucketheads work will appear on Chinese Democracy. I am personaly disappointed he walked from guns n roses, but that was his choice.

Right on, I was hopeing they would leave his tracks alone.
I wasnt that disapointed at all, Buckethead needs to stay underground. It didnt suit him headlining sold out festival crowds.
He only joined with Axl in the first place because after rejecting his offer for over a year, Axl found some ultra rare "Michael Myers" action figure and bribed him with that. So he finaly gave in.
He also auditioned for Ozzy (only out of respect) and Ozzy straight up told him the job was his if he took the mask and bucket off, but he turned him down.
As far as "younger" (by that I mean under 40) guitar players, his talent is unmatched in the industry.

I for one dont think that they are that great, GnR aren't really GnR anymore......
I just see it as pointless without the fire of the rest of the original band....especially when they are making people pay an absolute fortune to basically watch one member........A Bit like what W.A.S.P. are doing in Britain later this year.

GNR is the biggest over rated band on the planet. Axl live vocals are weak and very disapointing if you compare them to what he does on the albums.
Never could understand why so many sheeps out there went to see a band perform where they put 50% less effort then on there albums.

I remember when the new song leaked onto the radio and then Axel was threatening to sue the radio. The song itself was alright, there was no spark in it, though. This album, I fear, will be a great disapointment. I mean, if this is supposed to be a follow up to an album done more than ten years ago, I don't know how it'll compare to bands nowdays. I'm not too hopeful, I've never really been a GNR fan. All I know is that this band is no longer GNR, it's Axel Rose's GNR imitation.

I'll be excited to finally hear the album when/if it's released. I'll approach it with an open mind, and I don't expect it to sound like Appetite or anything. GNR was a pretty cool band, and Axl still sounds great vocally, so it's definitely possible for some cool music to come out of this. Ron Thal's a great player and it will be cool to hear him regardless.

Some of you are fucking amusing little worms! SLASH IS THE ONLY GNR GUITARIST!!! We've never heard of Tracii, Slash, Izzy fuckin' Stradlin (currently on-again off-again with GNR having played half the shows on this fucking tour), Gilby, Buckethead...
SLASH was GNR's best lead guitarist but he left the band in 1996 fuckheads. That was *11* years ago! Move the fuck on! Fact is Axl is still a great frontman and excellent songwriter; Catcher in the Rye, Madagascar, Better, There Was a Time, and even I.R.S. (the first leaked demo to make the top 50 in radio airplay) are better than most rock songs in the past DECADE.
If Izzy is cool with playing with the band, take that as a stamp of approval from AN ORIGINAL FUCKING MEMBER WHO WAS IN THE BAND BEFORE SLASH.
Slash has his own gig now, he made his choice, funny how GNR even without Slash gets more attention than Weiland's current trainwreck and it's "dancable" followup album.
Lets dance, lets do the twist. Good work Weiland! Should have stuck with STP, you had two or three good albums there at least.
Oh, and as someone with a brain already posted, by "everyone" Fortus meant everyone in the band.
Slash played with Michael Jackson so should we even care if Fortus plays Beautiful as a solo?
Move along maggots, it's the same old story on Blabbermouth. Traffic would drop 50% here if it weren't for GNR.
