'KORN Karaoke' Okay With JONATHAN DAVIS - July 5, 2006
Launch Radio Networks reports: When KORN singer Jonathan Davis was hospitalized in London last month with a rare blood disorder, the rest of his band still played at England's Download Festival, performing a 30-minute set with guest frontmen from 10 YEARS, SLIPKNOT, AVENGED SEVENFOLD and others. Davis told Launch that he couldn't have been more grateful to everyone involved. "I was very thankful that they did that and it was overwhelming to get, you know, that respect, to have those guys go up and do that, and then that the crowd responded to it well," he said. "You know, all we wanted to do was try and play some kind of show for those fans that paid to come see us. I know I wasn't there, but we tried to do what we could do, and I think it worked out great. Everybody did their best to pull off what I do, so I was stoked."

The singer added that he thought Corey Taylor of SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR did the best job.

Davis is currently recovering at home in Los Angeles from the infection, called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), which sent his blood platelet count plummeting to dangerously low levels.

KORN will be joined by DEFTONES, STONE SOUR, 10 YEARS and other acts on the Family Values tour, which begins on July 27 in Virginia Beach.

I'm sure Corey did a good job, but there's only so much you can do with songs that totally suck ass. their last 3 albums are weak.

Korn is not real Metal. Real Metal is the likes of: Haemorrhage, The Aborted, Abuse, Light This City or Boodbath.

I define music like this:

music |'myoozik| noun 1 the art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion

Norg, I hope you die on Christmas morning.

I agree too. Not sure why people on here give them so much grief. Bigger and better than a lot of others and still an original band. They've never tried to sound like anyone else.

And how were Coal Chamber trying to be like Korn? I can't see any similarities???

Korn's a shit fucking band. All their songs are about the same fucking thing. Oh, this world's a horrible place! Boo hoo!

By the way, "Coming Undone" is pure pop/rock.

Whether you love them or hate them, you have to admit KoRn has staying power so obviously alot of people like them! Doesn't matter if you like their old or new stuff, they still continue to be original - pop or not!

KoRn rocks!

thank you.it's disgusting.slipknot are brilliant minus masks and "vol.3" and don't need to be in cahoots with a band dying on its arse.they were good, korn, but really are only any use to 12 year olds growing pubes and trying to get handjobs.it seems to me they want to help each other off nu-metals sunken ship-swimming together for the surface, which is sad,as Slipknot shouldn't be lumbered with that shit

btw-Fred Durst is world class

a very well put point. but to say Korn singlehandedly kept metal afloat is going a bit overboard. need i mention not only Pantera but various bands from Roadrunner's roster throughout the 90's kept metal alive. Pantera's Far Beyond Driven debuted at #1 in 1994, a year where grunge was very much alive and metal was considered "dead". songs like "Walk" and "5 Minutes Alone" influenced countless nu-metal bands, Korn included. and though many of the bands on Roadrunner throughout the mid-90's never hit the charts in a major way, they kept metal alive at levels that people could still hear from them. i mean, look at the influence of Fear Factory on bands that came around only a couple years after the release of "Demanufacture". or Sepultura's "Roots" and the influence of that album.

i'm not here to bash you. like i said, you make some very valid points, but to say Korn singlehandedly kept metal alive is giving them more credit then they deserve. and i didn't even mention Helmet's influence (which Korn themselves have acknowledged Helmet's influence) and i'd mention Prong's influence but Prong seems to get lost in the shuffle anyways.

you can't deny Korn's impact on music... whether you like the bands they spawned or not.

and you can't deny that its pretty fuckin awesome that tickets to see them with Deftones, Stone Sour, 10 Years, and Bury Your Dead.. some of the bigger rock bands of today... only cost 15 bux. thats pretty fuckin sweet. i bought like 4 tickets.

i just hope they don't play a lot of new shit.
