SUPERNOVA's 'Rock Star' Is A Ratings Loser

Colin Mahan of TV.com is reporting that the second-season premiere of CBS's "Rock Star", where one lucky singer lands the frontperson spot in a rock band, placed third in its time slot, according to Nielsen overnight ratings. Time-slot competitor "So You Think you Can Dance" earned first place while NBC's "America's Got Talent" scored second in a close race. "Rock Star: Supernova"'s 90-minute premiere earned an average 2.2 in adults 18-49, slipping 8 percent from season one's 60-minute premiere, which nabbed a 2.4 in the demographic, according to TV.com. At 8 p.m., the first hour of "So You Think you Can Dance" took top honors with a 3.0 rating, followed by a repeat of "America's Got Talent" and "Rock Star", each with a 2.1. At 9 p.m., the second half of "Dance" moved up to a 4.2, a new "Talent" perked up with 4.0, and "Rock Star" petered out with a 2.0. Last summer, "Rock Star: INXS" featured the Australian band searching for a replacement singer for the late Michael Hutchence. The show received middling ratings, averaging a 2.5. This season of "Rock Star" features MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee and ex-members of METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES searching for a lead singer for their new "'supergroup," SUPERNOVA. Also last summer, Lee starred in "Tommy Lee Goes To College" on NBC, which received barely passing grades.

All we get is axed american shows, a few good cartoons (moslty reruns) and fucking "reality" tv.....

where im from...and IMO he picked the best song (Cult of Personality by Living Colour)...UNfortunately, he was probably the worst singer LOL..
the show is horrible...i hope they're (Supernova) getting paid boats of money for this...the best girl was the worst singer imo (that chick who covered evanessence)...she was all over the place with her voice, couldn't hold a note/pitch to save her life, but she was the ONLY one who didn't "make love" to the camera either...everybody else pouted into it, or stared into it...so lame...
and that chick who did Nirvana needs to be shot with the gun that Kurt killed himself with...i think he came to me in a dream last night and even said so :P

My wife and I were floored watching Rock Star: Supernova. Out of 25,000 auditions those horrible talentless hacks were the best they could come up with? I'm a professional singer and I could wipe the floor with any of those hack male singers. At least the females had 1 or 2 among them who were somewhat talented. The whole pool of male singers were out of tune, pitchy, and had a tonality that would make any small dog run under the sofa.
Dave Navarro is the most annoying mother fucker on the planet. He, Jason, and Tommy Lee kissed the asses of singers who should be washing dishes instead of fronting a rock band. Are these judges tone deaf?

This was the most horrific piece of festering stinkyness that I've ever seen. Even having Jason Newsted (from Metallica / Voivod) as one of the panelists couldn't help instill any REAL credibility to this horrible contest. The song selection was terrible, the contestants appear to be nothing more the American Idol outcasts!
Seriously, do America a favor, and SCRAP this show immediately before it gets any worse. Or better yet, FIRE the producers, FIRE the contestants, and start over by letting the PANELISTS AUDITION contestants from the first round much like American Idol.
Even having Brooke Burke in a shiny trash bag wasn't enough to keep my attention.
I wish I had two more hands so I could give this
