METALLICA Fan Struck By Lightning While Mowing The Lawn, Blames His iPod

Felisa Cardona of DenverPost.com is reporting that a Colorado teenager was listening to METALLICA on his iPod while mowing the lawn outside his Castle Rock home Sunday afternoon (July 2) when lightning hit him. The last thing 17-year-old Jason Bunch ( photo) remembers was that a storm was coming from the north and he had only about 15 minutes before he should go inside. Next thing he knew, he was in his bed, bleeding from his ears and vomiting. He was barefoot and had taken off his burned T-shirt ( photo) and gym shorts. He doesn't know how he got back in the house. Bunch immediately called his mother, who was in Illinois visiting family. "Mom, I think I was hit by lightning," he said. Kelly Risheill told her son to call 911, and she started the 14-hour drive home. About the same time, a neighbor saw Bunch's scorched green and white Reebok tennis shoes in the street, a few feet away from the lawn mower. She also called for help. Bunch and his mother believe the iPod acted as an antenna, drawing the lightning to him. There were tall pine trees nearby that didn't get hit. Read more at DenverPost.com.

The way I see it, is that God was pissed off that you were listening to crappy Metallica music (it was something from St.Anger...wasn't it??) and he stuck you down with a big-ass bolt of lightning. You're lucky to be alive, but you have to do the right thing. Sue Metallica for making such crappy music they label as "metal" that is so bad that even God hates it.

This is especially funny for me, since I live in Colorado (and have my whole life). It was probably Lars hitting him for downloading those songs!

He probably accidentally downloaded RTL song and turned it, which in turn made Cliff angry, considering that song kicks major ass n' all. Then, instead of striking him with lightning, he came down and kicked him to the ground. When he took off back to his bachelor pad in heaven, he went so fast the friction started various shit on fire. There is my crappy explanation.

i wonder if he was listening to RTL. but none the less it was probably the lawn mower that attracted the lighting. since i assume he had the pod in his pocket of on a belt the lawmower handle would have been closer than the pod to the lightning. not to mention the motor generating a good amount of shit as well.

That Colorado's elevation is about 3000 feet. Coloradans, like myself, have a better chance of being hit by lightning than other people. So Lawnmower + Lightning + 3000 feet in the air = screwed.

2ProngedCrown was the band, it was not Metallica. We have it from a reliable source that the youth was listening to the band 2ProngedCrown, from Atlanta, Ga.
