ENSLAVED Challenge IRON MAIDEN To Soccer Match

According to a posting on the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenNorway.com, Norwegian extreme metallers ENSLAVED have challenged IRON MAIDEN to a football (soccer) match in Norway, tentatively set to place on November 22 between MAIDEN's two shows in the country (November 21 in Oslo and November 23 in Bergen). It is not presently clear if MAIDEN will take ENSLAVED up on their offer. As previously reported, ENSLAVED have posted the video for their track "Path to Vanir" at this location. The song comes off the Norwegian extreme metallers' latest CD, "Ruun", which was released in the U.S. on May 2 via Candlelight Records. "Ruun" was recorded at Amper Studios in Olso and mastered at the Cutting Room in Sweden. The album entered the official U.K. Indie chart at No. 38 last week. Candlelight released a limited edition two-LP version of "Ruun" on June 27. Limited to 500 copies for direct U.S. distribution, it is sure to be a highly collectable piece for fans. The label recently issued "Return to Yggdrasil-Live In Bergen", the band's latest DVD release.

Im not so sure how much you guys know about Enslaved but.. THEY DONT WEAR CORPSE PAINT!
And they dont have funny looking outfits, atleast anymore then what Judas Priest currently wears.
Enslaved is far more then some run of the mill black metal band. Some would argue they havnt been a black metal band in some 5 albums. They are the best extreme metal band at the moment (and along with Opeth one of the two bands still experimenting and pushing the envolope of metal). Enslaved has just as much in common with 60's psychedelia then they do say Immortal. So until you guys know a single thing about Enslaved, shut the fuck up.
It would be a close match, but Iron Maiden would pretty much win the footy ball game. Only thing Enslaved has on Maiden is their youth. However, Bruce is a very athletic fello, and apperently steve is to. It will be close folks.

I have a hunch Maiden will own them....Steve Harris once had the choice of either going pro as a 'football' player or playing with Maiden full-time. Well, we know which one he picked, but I hear he's still quite the athlete. I hope it's a great time for both bands!
Enslaved's new record is fantastic, by the way. Clean/black metal vocals over trippy 60s/70s prog riffage.

BUT: Steve Harris is a killer footie player. He almost went pro with West Ham but chose a musical career instead. Wise move judging from the killer results, but of course he can REALLY play.
I'd love to see the match.
