IRON MAIDEN: '30 Years Of The Beast' Book Excerpts Available

Paul Stenning, author of GUNS N' ROSES "The Band That Time Forgot" and AC/DC "Two Sides to Every Glory", has posted sample excerpts from his upcoming 130,000-word biography on IRON MAIDEN, entitled "30 Years of the Beast - The Complete Biography 1976-2006" ( cover). IRON MAIDEN Singer Airlifts Beirut Evacuees - July 21, 2006
World Entertainment News Network reports that IRON MAIDEN singer and qualified pilot Bruce Dickinson airlifted 200 British citizens who had fled war torn Beirut, Lebanon back to the U.K. yesterday (July 20). The 47-year-old flew a Boeing 757 to Cyprus where he picked up the evacuees and flew them back to London's Gatwick Airport. A colleague says, "He was only too keen to get involved and help. "He has a strong interest in the welfare of people caught up in international conflicts and cares about what is going on."

Son of Worksop, Nottinghamshire, IRON MAIDEN singer and licensed pilot BRUCE DICKINSON has airlifted 200 British citizens back to the UK yesterday from war-torn Lebanon.
Renaissance rocker Dickinson, 47, flew a Boeing 757 to the island of Cyprus where he picked up the UK nationals and flew them to Gatwick Airport.
According to All Music Guide, “he was the most acclaimed and instantly recognizable vocalist to emerge from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement of the early-'80s.”
Dickinson made his recording debut with Iron Maiden on their Number Of The Beast album in 1982.
Dickinson quit Iron Maiden in 1993 but rejoined the band in 1999.
According to his biography on Wikipedia, “his other interests include literature, writing, expert fencing, train technology and flying the Boeing 757 charter jets for the UK charter airline Astraeus where he is employed as First Officer. He was taught to fly by British Airways commercial pilot Captain Phil Dales.”
An unnamed colleague tells the wire service WENN, "He was only too keen to get involved and help. He has a strong interest in the welfare of people caught up in international conflicts and cares about what is going on."

The problem is your focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

Why is it that none of the major news companies even brought up Bruce Dickinson doing that? Evacuating those people I mean. If Bono would have did anything we'd be hearing about it constantly. And all he would do is send a tax deductible check. I mean "Heavy metal legend flies in and evacuates people in his own fucking jet!". Is it just me or does that sound like a fucking story? Just goes to show that the media only makes heroes out of people that they want to be heroes.

He's got an AC/DC book and GN'R book, a My Chemical Romance book, a Maiden book and I see he's doing a Trivium book too.
Working for Terrorizer he's hardly a frontline music journalist and I doubt he has interviewed any of the bands he writes about personally. These 'insightful' pices of shit are noting more than what you or I could cobble together from the internet ourselves.
I wasted money on his AC/DC book, don't you make the same mistake with this one.
