SEPULTURA Introduces New Drummer At Portugal's VILAR DE MOUROS Festival - July 25, 2006
Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA introduced their new drummer Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA) last Friday (July 21) at the Vilar de Mouros festival in Portugal. The following report was posted at the band's official web site by the group's bassist, Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr.:

"Last Friday, July 21st, we had our debut with our new drummer Jean Dolabella on the festival Vilar de Mouros in Portugal (about an hour from the city of Porto). It couldn't be better!!! I read that they were expecting about 9,000 people, and ended up with being around 25,000. Was great!!! We got on the stage around 1:40 a.m. and was good to see that we still have a great following in Portugal!!! When Andreas came to introduce Jean for the first time, it seemed to me he was already familiar among the fans for a while. Definitely was a good feeling and did give us lots more of confidence and strength to do a great performance!!! Once more I was happy to step up on the stage and have the chance to share that feeling with our fans!!! Thank you so much Portugal!!! Hope to see you very soon!!!"

SEPULTURA's setlist for the Vilar de Mouros festival in Portugal – Friday, July 21, 2006:

01. Dark Wood Of Error
02. Refuse / Resist
03. Convicted In Life
04. False
05. Dead Embrionic Cells
06. Ostia
07. Crown & Miter
08. Sepulnation
09. Choke
10. Spit
11. Buried Words
12. Troops Of Doom
13. Beneath The Remains
14. Breed Apart
15. Territory
16. Arise
17. Come Back Alive
18. Roots

As previously reported, SEPULTURA made their first public appearance with Jean Dolabella on July 11 at Clube Belfiore in São Paulo during the Brazilian release party for their new CD, "Dante XXI". Check out pictures at Whiplash.net.

Dolabella joined SEPULTURA as the replacement for founding member Igor Cavalera, who left the band last month due to "artistic differences."

Igor announced earlier in the year that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Filling in on drums during the band's European tour with IN FLAMES was Roy Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003.

Igor is the second Cavalera to leave SEPULTURA. In 1996, Max Cavalera exited the group after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as SEPULTURA's manager.

Sepultura WAS the Cavalera bros, without either of them the band is dead, face it.....Dante is good, but it isn't Sepultura, anyone who prefers Derrick over Max isn't a real fan.

Lets see a reunion already.

Sepultura should take a leaf from Metallicas book and focus on the old, GOOD shit instead - like in their heyday:

Crucifixion
From the Past comes the Storms
Escape to the Void
Inner Self
Stronger than Hate
Primitive Future
Desperate Cry
Under Siege
Infected Voice

and just simply skip anything post-Arise.

I am a fan of both old and new Sepultura. Sure back in the day when the Cavalera brothers were in Sepultura, they were fuckin amazing. They aren't amazing now, but they aren't bad either. The new album is really good, but will never be as good as the old days.

sepultura suck regardless...even if they did get back together, it'd be like korn now. if they wrote a new album it would not be anything like the old stuff, and they would claim it be 'where they are at now'...trust me, it wouldnt be worth it. sepulture should close the book and leave it alone now. that's the bottom line. AND having said that, what are they gonna do 'hey mr. new singer guy, whatver your name is, youve been in this band for like 7 years now, but i wanna be back in, so goodbye'...he can't just do that can he?

They were like heroes to me one day... now they are a fuckin´corpse that insists to keep living insted of digging it´s own "sepultura" (grave).

Max & Igor should get back together with Rizzo and Bobby and change their name to Sepultura... that would be way better than that shit they call Sepultura nowadays.

To me Sepultura and Soulfly are like the homless man down the street that does bother anyone. As long as he doesn't bother anyone, I just ignore him. Both bands can continue existing and it doesn't bother me. I will just listen to Arise, Beneath, Schizo, Chaos (if I'm bored). Sepultura died when they did ROOTS. And Soulfly was just Roots II.

Carry on Seputura!
Sepultura rock, WITH or WITHOUT the Cavaleras!
OF COURSE you still have a great following in Portugal guys, you do everywhere but in the United Shits of Americunt, the land of brainwashing and trends.
SEPULTURA RULE.

PS: Dante XXI kills anything Soulfly put out, and Dante XXI is as good as the first 6 Sepultura albums.
