Former JUDAS PRIEST Singer TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS To Guest On Ohio's WRQK - July 26, 2006
Former JUDAS PRIEST and current ICED EARTH/BEYOND FEAR frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens will be interviewed Sunday, July 30 at 10:00 p.m. on Canton, Ohio's WRQK (Rock 107) 106.9 FM. More information is available at www.wrqk.com.

BEYOND FEAR's self-titled debut album was released in early May via SPV Records. The CD was recorded at the legendary Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida, under the direction of producer Jim Morris. The album consists of 12 haunting metal numbers, which, according to Owens, "show unmistakably where my musical roots lie: in the classic heavy metal of the Eighties. However, I've transported that traditional metal style into the present, lending it its own touch."

BEYOND FEAR's lineup is completed by John Comprix (SPAWN, 13 FACES) on guitar, Dennis Hayes (ex-WINTERS BANE, SEVEN WITCHES) on bass, Dwane Bihary (MISSING SKIN) on rhythm guitar, and Eric Elkins (CRYPTKICKER, ALL YOU FEAR) on drums. The band recently completed a European tour as the opening act for ANTHRAX.

To hear the Ripper on Iced Earth's new album, whenever it happens to come out. The ripper owns Barlow, even though he was awesome too.

...how often Owens is listed as the former singer for Priest, as if no one in the real world knows who he is. He has more than paved his way as one of the best singers in all of Metal. Beyond fear is pretty good Metal, and the next Iced Earth should be equally impressive!!

Goddamn Blabbermouth!!! Stop calling him "Former Judas Priest singer!" Of course, he is, but do you say "Former Metallica guitarist" Dave Mustaine every time there's a Megadeth post? How about "Former Samson vocalist Bruce Dickinson" when speaking of Iron Maiden. Ripper is fronting two awesome bands right now, one of which is better than Priest is now.

Beyond Fear is his best work ever, it seems he's found something he should stay with. He was good with Judas Priest and Iced Earth, but Halford and Barlow were the best choices for those bands, respectively. But Ripper rules with Beyond Fear!!!

Most newer metal doesn't do much for me but Beyond Fear put out a great CD. The whole band seems like some pretty solid players.

I liked Tim's work on Gettysburg but the rest of the Glorious Burden was rather mediocre as far as interesting songs. I think Tim should jump that ship. He's found a good fit with BF and shouldn't need to play second banana to anybody anymore.
