KISS Destroys Chumash; Show Includes Pyro And Fireworks

KISS' official web site, KissOnline.com, has been updated with the following report: " KISS rocked a standing-room-only crowd tonight at the Chumash Casino [in Santa Barbara County in California on Wednesday, July 26], and we mean standing room only! The room, including the aisles, was packed full with fans who were treated to a special intimate show, which to everyone's surprise included fireworks, pyro and confetti! Gene [ Simmons] even breathed fire and spit blood. So much for a no-thrills, scaled back show! KISS responded to the intimate setting with an energetic set that included 'Kissin' Time' and the addition of 'C'mon and Love Me'." This setlist was awesome. Wish Kiss would record some of these shows for a live album or something. Seems a shame that they're playing tunes like Kissin' Time and it's not being released.

If only they'd bring back Ace and Peter(especially Ace) I'd get back into these guys again. Went to every tour from 1983-2000, but haven't and won't go again until they stop bringing these tribute band imposters with them. What a shame. At least put em in different makeup like with Eric and Vinnie in the early 80s. And Tommy Thayer totally sucks. No one plays like Ace, so don't try. At least Bruce Kulick knew this and fit in quite well as himself instead of trying to be a half assed copycat.

Now that we got that cleared up,there is that totally awesome set list that Paul said Ace and Peter couldn't play.All those rare songs not heard live in so many years!!!Damn it people nobody was a bigger fan than me through the 70's right up untill 2000 when they started making a damn joke out of it.Wake up and see it for the rip off that it is and let it go!!!

dont include me with people who dont know what they are talking about. Ive been into kiss since 74.....when i was 12...not five. so ive pretty much been there for the whole ride. I never said tommy didnt "teach" ace his old licks.......i said he wasnt playing backstage for him..big difference. and he really didnt need to be taught them so much as get back into the way kiss was playing them...as he had been doing them his own way solo. and as far as the set list goes, ace was playing love her all i can, strange ways, watchin you, parasite and others during his solo tours. along with other kick ass tunes like deuce, detroit rock city, rocket ride etc. far from incompetent. and sure if you want to hear a bumble bee...vinny wins hands down. hes fast. so fast he ran himself right out of a career. no substance. his work on lick it up was very good though. great lp....oops.....lol. look, i dont like even responding on here really....but after reading so much bullshit and bashing on here its hard not to. everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i have no problem with people who dont like kiss. I understand. but god....pass the post...go on to something you do like and have a legitimate banter with them. I dont have a prob. hashing it out with other fans over things, but people who hate the band really need to find something better to do with their lives.

Warchief....I like Kiss...as I mentioned I am a Big fan...I absolutely love that set list (see above)..Let what go??? This is entertainment...I enjoy going to concerts, and Kiss is one of the best live acts...ever..awesome stage show...I am going to keep going no matter who is in the line-up..I wish Kiss would put Eric and Tommy in different make-up just to shut up the cry babies on this site...otherwise I could careless....spaceace..it's clear that you are a big ace fan (duh..lol)...and that's all fine..I like ace too...but tommy plays ace's stuff tighter than ace does( if you have an open mind, and open ears you will hear it)...it sure is nice to see, and LISTEN to kiss when they are hitting on all cylinders..as far as vinnie goes...he was much more than just fast..I have several bootlegs of live material from the lick it up and creatures tour...I also have several bootlegs of ace, and Bruce...and when you listen to them....KISS becomes a heavier band with Vinnie..all of the songs seem to have more balls to them...yeah vinnie was an oily haired putz, but he could smoke on a guitar, and was a decent song writer (he co wrote several songs on creatures, lick it up, and Revenge)....The bottomline is I am a Kiss Fan, and will continue to see them live reguardless who is in the band....All the putz's on this board and around the world can say what they want...I don't care...I'll keep paying to see them...critics have always hated Kiss...I think that's why I like them so much...the crybabies here make me like them even more...lol

Woohoo, what a great setlist, would be great to see.
Just needs 'Comin' Home' and 'All The Way' off 'Hotter Than Hell' to be perfect.
Plus 'I Stole Your Love' from 'Love Gun', and 'Mr Speed' from 'Rock N Roll Over'
Hell Kiss could play a Rush length set, and they still wouldn't be able to play all their great songs.

except...I want Tommy to play the stuff like ace does.....I don't want him changing the solos...play them like the album...a prime example of what I mean is DIO....I bought a live album with craig goldie (I think).....and all the solos were completely different....rainbow in the dark..etc...really pissed me off...changed the whole feel of the song....totally sucked....that's why I want tommy to copy ace...if it can't be ace...give me tommy being ace.....not tommy from black and blue...lol
