SILVERCHAIR Confirmed For Australia's HOMEBAKE Festival

Australia's SILVERCHAIR have been confirmed to headline this years Homebake festival on December 2, 2006 in Sydney. The trio last graced the Homebake stage way back in 1999 on the back of their "Neon Ballroom" album.
The band's fifth studio album will be launched at Homebake 2006. The as-yet-untitled disc is in the final stages of recording and the group is currently in Prague tracking some orchestral pieces on three songs. They will then head to Los Angeles to start mixing in a couple of weeks so you can expect their highly anticipated new album to land in stores right around Homebake, with a preceding single released over coming months.

I bought Diorama when it came out in '02 and I can honestly say that it is one of the best albums that has come out so far this decade. It isn't heavy, but it is damn good. Maybe they are talking about Silverchair on this site because they are getting tired of talking about some of the bullshit death metal bands on this site.

silverchair is probably my favorite band... just ahead of opeth. it's a shame most of you people haven't heard them since freak show. you've missed out on a lot of amazing music. even daniel johns' side project was amazing. his song/lyric writing puts most metal to shame.
