METALLICA: 'Lullaby Renditions' Collection Due This Month

How many sleepless nights have new parents spent trying to soothe a restless newborn? With the August 29 release of "Lullaby Renditions of Metallica" ( cover), a solution is on the way. Enter Sandman. That's right, the music that set the standard for aggressive, concussion-inducing rock will soon be lulling infants to sleep through dreamy re-workings of their head-banging fury. Classics like "Battery" and "Master of Puppets" feature glockenspiel, vibraphone, melotron, harps, bells and more. The music is arranged and performed by Michael Armstrong. If you have a child I think this is a great idea. I dont think there will be much bashing over this, because its meant for small children and babies. If you dont have a kid, this isnt for you. This isnt like a new metallica album up for review really. Its a kids CD. Many kids that grow up listening to music tend to smart, and creative. Id much rather my kid listen to something i can tollerate, not to mention the possitive effects music has on children. Believe me , I once got stuck on a car ride to boston with a kid that kept listening to a Disneys Christmas Carol tape..in the middle of SUMMER..OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I would have loved this cd about then. Kids like to be repetitive, its how they learn, so if i had to choose between one of these CDs, or some real kids music....um, i think the choice is clear.

These dudes need to quit - I watched some really bad bootleg of there new song on youtube...it was emberrasing. It was like a crash course in the garage live. They were a good band...and yes I am one of those who enjoys "the old metallica" I mean James had a "in ear" monitor he was using and still singing out of key.
James needs to just do his southern rock solo project, Kirk his wannabe Santana, Satriani, I'm cool like Johnny depp bullshit, Lars needs to work at his record label full time and not play music....Trujilllo I dunno...he just needs to join another band and stop moving around like an ape for christ sake.

I mean think about it, a lot of people are not parents here but the ones of us who are, it would be cool (I do not have small children any longer) anyways, I love heavymetal/rock and roll and my kids would be listening to any kind of music I would be listening to anyways. are mostly based on classical music elements. Stripped down to basics it has different movements just like classical. I have always like that about metal. Especially black metal. It is basically classical music sped up and super heavy. I can see how lullabyes and symphonies can be derived from heavy metal they both have the same basic roots.

Are you in a band and trying to add to the metal of today? I think one of the problems is just that, I grew up when there was NO metal at all, I am older, and then our generation started.. well there abouts anyways rock and roll and metal music, it grew over the years into what it is today... if new artist come out with new and more aggressive music that is great. I think Metallica does a great job at making aggressive music and still keeping it real to there own selves, after all isn't it about doing what you want when you are creating music? Could you create something that was NOT satisfying to your self? But was just there to please everyone else, to me that is selling out and not the other way around. If I stay true to myself then I am geniune... if I am doing it just to please someone else and trying to just pull in the masses so I can make money then I have let someone else make the decisions for me and we are doing nothing but delivering the goods so to say to have mass production... I do not believe that metallica have done this, I think they have stayed true to them selves and been creative how they have wanted. If all albums do not appeal to all people, which would be impossable to do... then they would of been selling out, making the music for everyone else and to appeal to all the fans, but they do not do this odviously, they are in the studio now creating a new album, and its going to be much heaver thne St Anger, St Anger was more of a punk album, I think so anyways... I love all kinds of music, I do not care for death metal, so I do not listen to it...
I think the most important thing an artist can to is to stay true to themselves... if Metallica only make a record for the ones who is wanting it a certain way then they would be doing this.
when cliff was alive today, I am sure he would be very proud of what metallica have done... Cliff wanted to do all kinds of different things with the music when he was alive and it was the reast of metallica that told him NO at that time, in a way after cliffs death it is kinds of a trubuit to Cliff by doing all the differnt types of music because it is what Cliff wanted in the first place, but he of course was out voted by the other three, then unfortunatly Cliff dies.. there love of cliff and his dream was still alive and they did as he wanted... and I am sure they will continue. RIP Cliff...
