EVANESCENCE: 'Call Me When You're Sober' Video Posted Online

EVANESCENCE's video for its new single, "Call Me When You're Sober", is available for viewing at YouTube.com. According to MTV.com, the clip features singer Amy Lee wearing a red satin cape and sitting at an antiquated vanity. A young man — with crystal blue eyes and scruffy, overgrown facial hair and sideburns — approaches her from behind, caressing her shoulders and softly kissing her neck as she tries to rebuff his advances. "The song is so literal, the lyrics and everything — I mean, obviously, just by the title — that we felt like the video would have the freedom to go in a less literal direction," she explained. "So it's [a modern re-imagining of] Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf and sort of a more cool, superhero, rock and roll Little Red Riding Hood." The song's subject matter, Lee said, involves "something that everyone's been through" — the frustration of "dealing with someone with an addiction, which is really hard, especially when you love someone." EVANESCENCE's new album, "The Open Door", is scheduled for release on October 3 via Wind-Up Records.

as for her band, they are nothing extrodinary.
they play well enough for a decent beat but thats about it.
the only reason i love evanescence is her voice and lyrics.

Within Temptation ripped these guys off with their last video, so its obvious they wish, Lacuna isn't as slick as this and will probably fall off pretty sharply once this album comes out..and Flyleaf can't play their instruments without everything being protooled in the studio...

I know the new song might be something you are not use too. It's called talent: you know, good song writing, good singing. Trust me, there is music outside of bands barfing about murder and killing... give it a try.
And as for Lacuna Coil, they are not even comparable to Evanescence. Evanescence is far superior in every way. Anyone with any kind of musical foresight or ear would be able to hear that. Evanescence will be remembered, Lacuna Coil will not.

I almost don't want to join the bashing out of principle but this stinks - they haven't progressed at all on the strength of this. It's a weak song that does sound like one Aguilara may have turned down and she just seems so vain in the video.
It says a lot that there's some other people on here too who don't mind this band and even they think it's crap. It's like Meatloaf for teenygoths - I expected more.

(i don't hate within temptation, that's not what i'm saying, i went to a concert of them and i still think it wasn't worth my money but i just don't like their music so much)
