Former SEPULTURA Drummer Schedules DJing Appearances In Los Angeles - Aug. 14, 2006
Former SEPULTURA drummer Igor "Iggor" Cavalera and his wife Laima will make two DJing appearances in Los Angeles, California this coming weekend:

Aug. 18 - Tokio Club
Aug. 19 - Brooklyn Projects Party

Check out a flyer for the event at this location.

In related news, SOULFLY — which is fronted by Igor's brother and former SEPULTURA bandmate Max Cavalera — will play the 10th annual D-Low Memorial Festival this Thursday, August 17 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ. SOULFLY will be joined by "special guests" at the show, which will include additional performances by NORTH SIDE KINGS and INCITE (a local Arizona band fronted by Max's stepson Richie Cavalera).

The D-Low concert, which is held every year in memory of Max Cavalera's stepson Dana "D-Low" Wells, who was killed in a 1996 car wreck (article), is SOULFLY's biggest show of the year and draws fans from all over the United States. In 2004, SOULFLY filmed portions of their "The Song Remains Insane" DVD at the event.

In a June 13, 2006 interview with BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Igor had the following to say regarding the possibility of ever playing with SEPULTURA again: "It's hard to say. The thing that I always left really open and I always spoke very clearly about to everybody was the way that I wish I could play with my brother again. Even when I was in SEPULTURA — that was something that I never hid from anyone. And I think it's still the same. I think one day I will be able to play with him again. I don't know what format — if it's SEPULTURA, if it's a new thing — but the desire is there, and it's always been there, and I never made that a secret to no one."

Let him do whatever he likes. I like some eletronic and techno music, hardcore techno and extreme gabber can be heavier and more aggressive than most metal. Igor rocks.

Screams on the new cd suck. Jim Root didnt do too bad on this cd. But If Corey Screams like a smoker NOW. Imagine him on the next slipknot record. Corey either quit smoking, or w/e your doing to fuck up your voice, or next record slipknot is done for.

From Sepultura to THIS? I know musicians grow and change over time... it's inevitable... but damn! On the other hand, it's the first time I've seen the Back Side Kings' name in print since the whole 'you got knocked the fuck out' incident...

Mmm... Beer... c(_)

If most of you had a clue you would know that all members of Sepultura, whether they be ex or current members, have wide and various tastes in music, I mean for fucks sake look at the influences on the Sepultura albums let alone Soulfly.

Stop acting so disappointed.

You can only play just metal for so long until its no longer interesting and becomes a job.

Oh, and by the way, I know Incite has Max's stepson in it but man they really suck -- the kids got no talent and it blows cause they open every Soulfly show. Ick.

Who cares? Igor's doing what he wants now and is having a good time, just let the man live his life. It's not like he's gonna forget how to drum anytime soon.
