Is it me, or they have no clue how to finish the song?
Is it me, or it's an Hammet is doing a compilation of all his previous solos?
I wish they could come back with a decent album, but I seriously doubt it. Their last good album was ...And Justice For All.
After this it's just a downfall. You just need to watch the DVD a year in half with Metallica to know where the shit started to go sour.
And yes, I totaly agree with some other posters, James, don't try to sing, you ain't good at it at all.
At least Rubin won't let a shitty sound escape from the studio.

not as good as pre-black album, better than post-black album. it'd be a lot better if he would just sing like he used to back in the 80's, he doesn't have any of his growl left in his voice.
nevertheless i'm looking forward to the new album because although they have a ways to go to be great again, at least it's a step back in the right direction.

Both songs are great, though the one played in Korea sounds better.
But, in terms of arrangements, both songs reminds me pretty well of RTL. I know the kids will bash that, but when I have listened to RTL for the first time, they weren't even "on track", so shut up.

Does it matter if its 20 years ago? Its still Metallica. I cant blame them for trying something new, but you obviously do, but on the other hand youre obviously not in a band and therfore dont know how important it is to keep the flame burning. I mean to keep on one side just for the case of it is wrong, you should play whatever the fuck you want. I believe that Metallica have always played for themselfes, not to satisfy other (which in my case is the term of selling out.) Load might not be pure metal, but in my opinion shows great muciscianship. i know loads of bands who respect and list Metallica as still one of their inspiration. What a fucking question was that anyway!? Silly man.
I gotta go very soon but i can take some examples. I met the guys in Meshuggah in 2003, they still rank Metallica as one of their heroes, same goes for Iced earth and Jon shaffer. Hmm, Lemmy from Motörhead has always had tremendous respect for Metallica and still list them as an influence. Then We have Tuomas Holopainen from nightwish who ranks Metallicas laters albums as a great influence. Same with Scott ian from Anthrax. Then we have bands like Trivium and whatnot. The list can go on forever!! But i cant!

Also, these new songs are gold compared to anything thats been released since the black album. To think otherwise would put you in denial. People bitch about james voice, it will never be the same. I believe he blew it out during/after the recoding of the black album and it got worse over time. Wich leads me to the theory of why load/reload was made. If he could no longer growel... would making another puppets/anjustice/black sound right again? I think not... hence why they chose a alt rout for awhile.
