KIRK HAMMETT Jamming With TOOL: Video Available - Aug. 21, 2006
A low-quality video clip of METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett performing with TOOL during their headlining appearance at the Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu, Hawaii on Friday (August 18) has been posted online at YouTube.com. According to one TOOL fan's eyewitness account posted at the ToolNavy.com web site, TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan introduced Hammett by saying, "We have a special guest tonight. He's not [unintelligible], and he's not Elvis. Well, maybe he's their bastard son, Mr. Kirk Hammett." "[Kirk] then proceeded to come out and play guitar on 'Sober'. I've never been partial to METALLICA, and for those of you who are, I'm sorry to report that Kirk damn near butchered the song. His drunken so-called 'solo' was particularly sloppy and completely extraneous. Only the band coming back through to thrash the rest of the song out extremely hard saved it. Then he totally tripped out and flustered Adam [Jones, TOOL guitarist] by grabbing him for his 'hug' and kissing him on the mouth! Only to return at the end of the show to the stage to perform the 'we're not worthy!' bow on his knees before the guys. At least he realizes."

sdmf..listen to the new tool album a couple more times and you will see that it's not a St.Anger album. Tool couldn't suck that much even if they tried.

Whatever. Ive given the new Tool album more than a couple of times. Its boring as fuck. It is not as bad as St. Anger, but it still puts me to sleep. Shame on them for releasing such a mediocre album. They could do a lot better.

I'm glad I got to hear a shity solo. It's better than no solos, which was the case before K.H. took the stage. Seriously, I paid $70 per ticket for this shit... so please, bring on the sour notes! It adds value. BTW, what weight class do you think Maynard wold be? He's probably got 10 lbs. on me, but I think I could make him tap.

If you were at this show and heard a guy yelling "BLACK METAL HAWAII", this is what that was all about ---> myspace.com/magnumcarnage

I have to agree. As a TOOL fan, the newest album is the St. Anger/Load/Re-load of Tool. The first single Vicarious sounds exactly like the single from the Lateralus album. THe album is pretty mediocre.

TOOL/Hammett sounds pretty interesting though.

The only thing with low-quality is Tool's music.

Hammett's a fucking moron.

You want awesome + awesome = mega fucking win, here you go:

Nile = AWESOME
Adam 'Nergal' Darski = AWESOME

Nergal growling "Cast Down the Heretic" onstage with Nile = FUCKING WIN
