METALLICA: 'Dethklok Metalocalypse' Images Posted Online

METALLICA's official web site has been updated with images of James Hetfield's and Kirk Hammett's appearance in the cartoon series "Dethklok Metalocalypse", which premiered August 6 on Adult Swim (the adult-oriented television programming block on Cartoon Network). Check it out at Metallica.com. "Dethklok Metalocalypse" follows the mayhem surrounding the world's biggest band, and 12th-largest economy, the half-Norwegian/half-American black metal band DETHKLOK. They live in a gigantic upside-down dragon boat perched atop the fjords of Norway. They cause disaster, destruction, and bloodshed wherever they go. In an age where metal is king, DETHKLOK's business savvy trumps the world's most shrewd visionaries. But they're excessively dumb when it comes to the most rudimentary tasks. For example, they don't know how to make food for themselves — not even a sandwich. During one scene, guitarist Skwisgarr Skwigelf tries to make coffee with a toaster. Although they've outsold THE BEATLES, DETHKLOK are, according to show co-creator Brendon Small, "just a thousand times more dangerous and a billion times more stupid." Read more at ThePhoenix.com.

I don't know about this show, it's ok I guess...it makes metal bands and their fans look like raging fucking idiots though. I admit some of it is funny but man...it has every heavy metal stereotype in the book it seems like.

Awesome show. hope they come out with a sound track. Ill admit new Metallica leaves something to be desired calling anyone who enjoys those albums just pop fans is pretty close minded. Black album is ok in my opinion but thats the last metallica album I have on my ipod but I have no problem with people who like those albums.

I think the show is kind of dumb. I didn't even smile when I saw the premiere. Some of the jokes are okay, but overall the show feels more to me like it's aimed at non-Metal fans rather than Metal fans.

I think that if you are not in a band the jokes might go over your head. THAT SHOW IS AWESOME!! And for a cartoon, THE MUSIC IS BETTER THAN A LOT OF BANDS!!!
I can easily insert tons of Metallica jokes but since they are one, I don't need to.
