MUSHROOMHEAD Effortlessly Survives 'Cockfight' With EVANESCENCE At Radio

MUSHROOMHEAD will release its new album, "Savior Sorrow", on September 19, 2006. The band recently debuted its new single, "Simple Survival", on several stations across the USA. At KRQR, it was a "David and Goliath" story of arguably the biggest commercial rock band in the USA going up against an arsty metal band. MUSHROOMHEAD's "Simple Survival" went up against EVANESCENCE's "Call Me When You're Sober" on KRQR's "Cockfight" on August 24, which left MUSHROOMHEAD the clear winner and champ.
"It feels really good this time around," says drummer Steve "Skinny" Felton. "Radio seems to really dig it. And it's a new chapter in our evolution. There are sounds on this album that sound so melodic, yet brutal and huge. The album is quite diverse, yet retains a MUSHROOMHEAD dynamic.'
"Savior Sorrow" was produced by Felton and MUSHROOMHEAD at Cleveland's Filthy Hands Studios in April 2006. MUSHROOMHEAD's prior release, "XIII", entered The Billboard 200 at position No. 40 and went on to sell 400,000 copies worldwide. The band will begin a world tour starting September 20, 2006 in its hometown of Cleveland.

My guess it that Evanescence will get the last laugh with CD sales x10, but enjoy the small victory I say.
I really liked the last CD by these guys. I'm looking forward to this one.

how can you say that mushroomhead is anything commercial. look at the facts. Theu never got radio play, their songs ahev always been "too long for radio" and let us not forget how hornswaggled they got with the whole slipknot vs. mushroomhead thing- nevermind the fact that they both surfaced in pretty much the same time let alone the fact that MRH have been around longer..
MRH are nowhere near commercial numetal.

Is 'one' of the worst albums to come along in years. There isn't much more to say, it's a catastrophy. Evanescence is a much better band and call me when you're sober is a much better song. The 'clear' winner will be fortold when both albums come out and album sales start being figured :D
