ALICE IN CHAINS Confirmed For San Antonio's KISS FALL FESTIVAL
- Aug. 25, 2006
|
|
|
ALICE IN CHAINS has been confirmed for this year's Kiss Fall Festival, set to take place at San Antonio's Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on October 7. They will play as part of a stellar line-up that also includes STAIND, AVENGED SEVENFOLD and LOSTPROPHETS.
ALICE IN CHAINS will embark on a North American-wide tour starting on September 22 in Las Vegas. The tour will hit over three dozen cities including San Francisco, Austin, Toronto and New York. Hard-rock band HURT will be supporting ALICE on the tour.
These performances follow ALICE IN CHAINS' successful six-city club tour (all of which were instant sell-outs) and overseas festival dates and mark the return — after a long hiatus — of one of the few surviving bands from the much-beloved Seattle music scene. ALICE IN CHAINS — Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez and Sean Kinney — will again be joined by William DuVall on lead vocals.

Catrell and co are frauds. I'm tired of these guys that can't sell records on their own so they pull this stunt. They are all talented musicians so why not call it somthing else and leave the AIC legacy alone. They can still play the old songs on tour but I bet the next announment is Alice in chains is recording material for a new album followed by a world tour.

And I threw Dirt on, what a great fucking album. Definetly in my top 10 and my fav AIC album.
I am ok with this tour, but I beg you Jerry, please please please, do not record with this lineup and call it AIC. It's not.
If you do, you will destroy YOUR legacy.

How can you call them a surviving band?
And doesn't anyone else find it troubling that they mention the phrase "sell out" in every press release regarding the new AIC?

I never thought of that, hats off to you. It is as if they use 'sell out' as wishful thinking; or, perhaps, just to convince us, whom happen to believe, AIC died with their lead singer years ago.

San Antonio can boast one of the first, coolest and longest running hard rock radio stations.
Also Dallas had Z rock and the X.
It almost equals out for Texas also giving us this fucking douchebag president.

First of all, dubya is NOT a Texan! He's a new england elitist. Just because his family settled in Texas to cash in on the oil boom does not make him a Texan. Furthermore, Texas did not "give him" to the US. A lot of people all over the country voted for him. As far as rock radio goes, since clear channel took over most major stations, rock and metal has suffered. You aren't going to be exposed to good music on the airwaves these days unless the bands have lots of record company money involved. It's payola pure and simple.

1. halliburton hadn't rigged florida in 2000, and ohio in 2004 2. he hadn't made a complete sweep of solid red dixie states
they still need lots of help down there, too many churches, and not enough teachers.

not sure if this lineup should be considerd A.I.C. weather or not William Duvall is great doesn't matter. Lane was Alice In Chains frontman. ( & much more) take a lesson from Motley Crue or Van Halen. it never works faster we run we die young
