AEROSMITH: New Rehearsal Video Posted Online - Aug. 26, 2006
A video clip of AEROSMITH's final rehearsal prior to the start of "The Route of All Evil" tour MÖTLEY CRÜE has been posted online at Aerosmith.com.

As previously reported, AEROSMITH bassist Tom Hamilton will be sitting out a few gigs at the beginning of the tour. Hamilton has just completed a seven-week course of radiation treatment for throat cancer. He will be with his family recovering and will join the tour in mid-October. Filling in for Hamilton will be David Hull, a longtime friend of the band who played in the JOE PERRY PROJECT.

Billboard.com reported on Thursday (August 24) that AEROSMITH plans to release a best-of, "Devil's Got a New Disguise", Oct. 10 via Columbia, in the midst of its fall tour with MÖTLEY CRÜE.

"We were working on getting a studio record out, but we just couldn't do it. There wasn't enough time," guitarist Joe Perry told Billboard.com, calling the hits set "a good holdover."

"Devil's Got a New Disguise" takes its title from one of two new songs that will be included on the 16-track album. Perry described it as "a classic AEROSMITH rocker," while the other fresh track, "Sedona Sunrise", has been around for awhile and was considered for other AEROSMITH albums. "We felt like it really had to come out," Perry said.

Best Aero album: Rocks....1976 what a fucking year; Kiss released their best that year as well, Destroyer. (I know what you are thinking: fuck Kiss and Aero)

At this point these guys should be relaxing and taking care of their health.

Ummm...yup, thats exactly what I was thinking.
(though I do have more respect for Aerosmith than kiss, but not a big fan of either)

And since we are on the topic of 1976, perhaps the best album to come out of that year was the debut record from...

AC/DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HIGH VOLTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry, ill calm down now...

haha....yes, High Voltage was great. High Voltage really begun the domination of AC/DC over both Kiss/ Aero for the next decade, at least album wise, IMO.

You concur mate?

yup.

AC/DC was always my fave band growing up.
I think at one point I had 29 AC/DC cd's...

I can't wait for thier new album. I think they are recording it in Vancouver again (as they did for thier last 3) and a Major World tour will ensue.
If they set 2 Vancouver dates, like they did last time around, im gonna goto both shows for sure!

Lucky you. Vancouver, IMO, is the rock/metal capital of Canada, and has been for almost 20 years...that ain' t gonna change now.

Honestly too, lucky you, you guys get the best tours (minus Iron Maiden, this time around, but oh well: AC/DC all but make up for it.)

No disrespect to David Hull at all, but why not just wait for Tom Hamilton to be well enough to tour? He's an original member who has never left the band and deserves to be treated as such.

Steve or Joe are sick = no tour.
Tom, Joey or Brad are sick = tour?

Don't turn into KISS.
EVERY MEMBER OF AEROSMITH IS IMPORTANT.

A CONCERNED AEROSMITH FAN.
GET WELL SOON TOM.

I love aerosmith and to think that Tom won't be at the show due to cancer is a saddening point.

It does suck that Tom won't be there, but the show must go on! Aerosmith has a habit of not making up shows they cancel and I need to see this show.

The birth of my first born won't be as glorious.

Good sounding rehearsal. Seems like they have finally realised they havent really been any good since the first 5 albums. Just a question of if they will actually come up with the goods again on a new album.
