THE BLACK CROWES Keyboardist Quits For 'Health Reasons' - Aug. 28, 2006
THE BLACK CROWES keyboardist Eddie Harsch has left the band, citing "personal issues."

Harsch, who at 49 was the oldest member of the Chris Robinson-fronted band, has played with THE BLACK CROWES since 1991, according to the World Entertainment News Network.

Harsch is to be replaced by Rob Clores.

A statement from the band reads: "We want to inform our fans that Ed Harsch will no longer be performing with THE BLACK CROWES due to personal issues. We are excited to announce Rob Clores as keyboardist and look forward to the fall leg."

However, in a posting on his MySpace.com page, Clores says Harsch was forced to leave the band due to "his health situation."

He writes: "THE BLACK CROWES have always been one of my favorite bands and one of the few I have always wanted to play with, though I never thought I would get the chance.

"But my opportunity comes as the result of Ed's unfortunate circumstance. I have never met Ed, but I have the utmost respect and admiration for him — and I am truly saddened by his health situation. If the band could have its way Ed would still be there.

"Let's send positive vibes his way and in the meantime I will do my best to uphold the keyboard chair in this great band."

As a huge Black Crowes fan, Eddie is one of the coolest dudes in the band and he will be sorely missed. My guess is it something from smoking, cigarettes and the chronic. Piss off with the herion crap - that's a bunch of BS!

Like he's not hard to replace; he wasn't even relevant to the band for God's sake.

Black Crowes are a great rock n roll band. As well as a great live act. Wish Eddie the best.
