LINKIN PARK: No New Album Until 2007

Jonathan Cohen of Billboard.com reports that LINKIN PARK is still at work on the follow-up to 2003's "Meteora" with producer Rick Rubin. The as-yet-untitled new album was originally expected by the end of the year via Warner Bros., "but at this point we don't see that happening," group member Mike Shinoda told fans last week during an online chat. "We're doing really well, but we just need a little more time." "We have narrowed it down to about 30-50 songs, and some of those are heavy, some are softer and some are in between," he continued. "So far it has a different sound that I cannot describe. It sounds like it's older, but not vintage. More organic in some spots, like just yesterday we recorded a song with no samples that is completely raw. Other songs are full of samples." One new song, provisionally named "Qwerty" ( audio), was debuted earlier this month in Japan. "We did those lyrics on the plane on the way to Japan," Shinoda said. "I'm not sure if it'll make the album, but we liked the song enough to play it." Read more at Billboard.com.

When anthrax did a song with public enemy a lot of people liked it. Just because theres rap and a good singin voice it must suck right......wrong. These guys all have a skill that they are using so fuck off and get over yourselves. Dont like it, then dont fuckin listen to it. no one is makin you buy the fuckin albums or listen to there songs

not just because it's linkin park, but simply because they have it "narrowed down" to 30-50 songs. that means they maybe have 2 guitar parts tops per song. sounds like a blast.
these douchebags are such a polished, cookie cutter band, they make limp bizkit seem like a highly credible true metal group.

Does this make sense? The way this guy structures a sentence/paragraph just shoots all credibility out the window. I am not saying that because I hate nu-metal because I actually like new metal, but that is not true.

30-50 songs?! Holy shit. Let's just think about that for a second. Facelift, Sap, Dirt, Jar of Flies and the self-titled album have 48 songs combined. And then if you count "Get Born Again" and "Died," you're talking about 50 songs. AIC have a bunch of other unreleased stuff, but through the entire musical career of Alice in Chains, they roughly put out about as many songs as Linkin Park are claiming to have for their new album.
It's just too bad that fans of a band like Linkin Park can't see through the simplicity and mindlessness of the music they put out. They could put out 3 albums with all the "material" they have and they would all sell millions of copies.

In all fairness, their Hybrid Theory album wasn't all that bad. As far as nu-metal goes, it was definitely in the upper echelon. However, after they started doing rap re-mixes and they released that Meteora travesty, it became clear that their debut was a fluke.

I liked Linkin Park back in 2004 YES I FUCKING ADMIT IT LOL!
Untill I discovered something called talent :P I even bought their live in texas CD/DVD.
But seriously if you still like linkin park. Think about it learn how the guitar and drums work and how they add up to make GOOD music then listen to linkin park and you'll noticed that they make bad music.
