Gunman Who Opened Fire At Montreal College Was Heavy Metal Fanatic

The gunman who opened fire at a Montreal college Wednesday (September 13), killing one student and wounding at least 19 others before being gunned down by police, has been identified as heavy-metal fan Kimveer Gill ( Photo#1, Photo#2), of Laval, north of Montreal, according to the Montreal La Presse newspaper. In an online blog β which the Toronto Star reveals as VampireFreaks.com β Kimveer Gill includes a photo of a tombstone with his name printed on it β below it the phrase: "Lived fast died young. Left a mangled corpse." The blog paints a dark portrait of the 25-year-old man published reports have identified as the trenchcoat-wearing gunman who opened fire on students at Montreal's Dawson College Wednesday, killing one and injuring 19 others, according to the Canadian Press. Gill's list of favourite music groups is a who's who of heavy metal: OZZY OSBOURNE, MARILYN MANSON, IRON MAIDEN, DANZIG and METALLICA, but only the "old stuff." His favorite movies list includes mostly gory horror films. He enjoys violent video games including the controversial "Postal", a first-person shooter game, in which the protagonist goes on a killing spree while completing everyday errands. A questionnaire on the blog reveals both banal and disturbing insights into Gill's life. He likes drinking, owns 300 CDs, prefers Burger King over MacDonalds and says "heavy metal rules." Every metal head in my school came in everyday and shot the place up. No one was killed, but we all shook our heads and said "That damn heavy metal" each time. When will someone ban metal? Oh when?

Maybe it's a bit before you guys time, but when I heard "mohawk, trench coat, combat boots" the first thing I thought of was Taxi Driver and Travis Bickle.
I have no interest in researching this douchebag's history to find out if he liked the movie, but if anything...IMHO...I think it's fair to say it's just as fair to indict Scorcese as it is to blame Metallica, Manson, and the usual suspects.
Just for the record, I've listened to all the stuff he has. I have a job that is probably 10,000 X more pressure packed than his student gig (ooohhh...homework...how scary!) to boot and I haven't taken an Uzi to work.

I may be wrong. I posted a condolences message on the site and it was taken down. Why? I agree that Iron Maiden have nothing to do with the incident but I know that many victims were fans... Is that how the metal community stands for each other? With the same idea. Why should we care if Bruce flies in a secure zone with his air plane to take a few brits away??? Same idea, no? Solidarity!!!!
Anyways the IMOC is the only reason that I will not go see them in concert. Way to much corporate.. (maybe too bad for me⦠But I vote with my boots)
