VENOM Pulls Out Of Japan's THRASH DOMINATION FEST
- Sep. 17, 2006
British black metal pioneers VENOM have cancelled their appearance at this year's Thrash Domination Fest 2006, which was scheduled to take place this weekend (September 16-17) in Kanagawa, Japan. According to posting on the band's web site, VENOM frontman Conrad "Cronos" Lant was "taken ill and is under his doctor's orders to rest."
In addition to VENOM, Thrash Domination Fest 2006 was scheduled to include performances by DEATH ANGEL, SODOM, ONSLAUGHT and DRAGONLORD.
VENOM recently completed a short North American tour, dubbed the "American 10 Commandments Tour", in support of its latest CD, "Metal Black". The album was released in North America on April 4 via Sanctuary Records. The CD was mixed at the Townhouse Studios in London and contains 14 new songs.
VENOM recently recorded a session for the BBC at London's Maida Vale studios. The session, which was broadcast on Radio 1 on April 11 during Mike Davies' "Rock Show", marked the second BBC recording by VENOM since 1985, when they laid down four tracks for Tommy Vance's "Friday Rock Show".

about how true conrades illness is. i was suprised here in new york, as well as the other us shows to hear the attendance was not as well as expected........ the only way venom can make a killing is if its the original 3 doing the first three albums live. that should get a lot of people out.

Hmmm, was it "immigration problems" - "unprofessional promoters" - oh, now Cronos is sick, ha, ha, ha, ha, it is really a shame these guys with such a great history and who just recorded such a great record are such a train wreck. I will never believe a word about them again, even if it is on their "official website" - wise up Cronos, your legions are growing tired of the BS and your already dwindling attendance records are going to continue to nosedive.
