NIRVANA: 'Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!' To Receive DVD Release In November

According to a posting on The Internet Nirvana Fan Club, NIRVANA's 1994 compilation video "Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!" will finally be released on DVD in November. "The video has been cleaned up and will look much better than the VHS, and even the laserdisc release," the posting reads. "The audio has been remastered. In addition, there will be some bonus material, but it is not known at this point whether it will include previously unreleased footage. A very likely release date for the DVD is November 13 in Europe and November 14 in the U.S." This will mark the first-ever DVD release by NIRVANA's record label, aside from the DVD that was included with 2004's "With The Lights Out" box set. "Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!" was originally conceived by Kurt Cobain in 1993 but it was delayed due to other commitments with touring, etc. By the time Kurt died in 1994, it had not yet been completed, but Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl continued the project and tried to maintain's Kurt's original vision. In the "Journals" book, you can find a page with Kurt's notes for the video's concept. The video contains concert footage, interviews and various backstage clips. The VHS and laserdisc version was originally released in November 1994. Note that an unofficial DVD from 2003 with inferior quality, produced in Brazil, is also circulating.

I can't help but laugh about news stories like this. Cobain essentially killed himself because he didn't like all the fame an attention that came along with being a rockstar. Everyone knows this, and yet they can't help but beat him and his band's name to death.

Nirvana is so fucking overrated, they where just an ok punk band with few good songs and thats it. Soundgarden, Pearl Jan, Alice in Chains, Screaming Trees where all so much better. And why the fuck are lyrics about shooting yourself and stuff like that better then the "hair" bands lyrics about having fun and taking drugs and fucking women? both can be good if they are GOOD. i like Motley Crue, GNR and bands like that but i also like soundgarden, AIC, Pearl Jam, but at leat Motley and GNR had a great time
yea and Kurt was a loser, he had a family to take care of and shot himself, thats what i call a loser, and he had all this money also but his choice R.I.P.

i was only 10 back when Nevermind came out, an even I know what the deal was..in case you didnt know Guns N Roses and Metallica were the 2 biggest bands on earth when Nirvana came out...hair metal was already dead but MTV still played them here and there...Nirvana came around and then MTV dropped it completely, but I wouldnt say Nirvana killed it, after Nirvana came out all you saw on MTV was GNR, Metallica, MEgadeth, pantera, Nirvana and Pearl Jam...Don't forget GNR and Metallica were stilll the biggest bands in the world when Kurt died in 1994..GNR was even offered the headlining spot at woodstock in 94 which they declined

yea and also about Steve Vai while he was mentioned earlier, we also need guys like him and Dream Theater for example, these guys could make music like nirvana did in their sleep, but they have the talent to make more difficult music both to play and listen to, and decide thats what they wanna do, even if they sell less albums that way, at least its their way. and why the fuck cant a solo or song have any soul to it just because its fast and difficult to play? are only easy songs or slow songs more heartfelt?? Nirvana are overrated, had few good songs, thats it, even Nevermind is just maybe 3-4 good songs, the rest is crap and just the usual shit that anyone could write and play. and if he hadnt shot himself they would have disapeared by them selfs either by selling nothing or Kobain would have quit. yea and Foo Fighters first 2 albums are better. but if you like them thats fine by me, just my opinion. thanx :)
