HELMET Mainman Seeks New Members

HELMET mainman Page Hamilton is currently producing an album for a band from North Carolina called CLASSIC CASE. "After I finish, I'm playing some more guitar on the movie 'Across the Universe' and getting ready to do some HELMET shows in a month or so," Hamilton says in a posting on the band's web site. "The first round of shows start October 17th somewhere near New York. The Warcon folks and people involved with the movie 'Saw III' are putting the tour together and planning another HELMET video for the song 'Monochrome'."
In other HELMET-related news, guitarist Chris Traynor has announced that he has left the band after nearly a decade of working with Hamilton. A few days later, drummer Mike Jost also exited the group in order to attend to his duties as a new father. It is not presently clear if bassist Jeremy Chatelain will continue playing with HELMET. Hamilton is reportedly already auditioning new members.
HELMET is tentatively scheduled to tour Europe in November and Australia in December.

Helmet has been my favorite band for over 14 years now.....Myself and others have put up with these changes for a while. I've still supported Page because he is the man, but if Traynor is leaving and Jost is gone for some time too, I think it might be time to put Helmet to rest and start something else, unfortunately.

The band REALLY ended after Aftertaste because John and Henry left. I still supported them because Page is an awesome frontman, but I can't take more new people. When it gets to the point where one original member remains, you need to lay it to rest. Traynor leaving, even though he wasn't an original member, should push my argument over the edge.

but hated aftertaste meantime and strap it on remain their best, there new one is better than size matters, and all real fans should pick up born annoying cause that shit fucking rocks

I believe Angelripper is the only original member.
As long as Page has a vision there should always be a Helmet.

So I can't really speak to the similarities, but Helmet isn't just Page...It was Henry and John too. Don't get me wrong, Page is a great musician, but maybe he should put his efforts towards another project.

To echo the posts above, as a long time fan, just end it already. I almost think Page missed out on doing another great project by trying to keep helmet alive.

Sorry Page, I agree with most here. I was a really big fan until Aftertaste, but unless some of your old pals come back, I can't consider anything in the future a Helmet effort.
It's tough to go see a band that doesn't carry the same guys as when you first got into 'em.

Here's your chance to rescue John and Henry from their torturous jobs at Taco Bell. Hell, everyone else is doing a reunion with "classic" lineup. Page, John, Henry, and Peter too.
This is the only reunion that will matter, besides Death Angel.
BTW, fuck the Anthrax reunion.
