ATREYU Signs With HOLLYWOOD RECORDS - Oct. 4, 2006
Orange County, California's ATREYU has parted ways with Victory Records and has inked a new deal with the Hollywood label.

Commented ATREYU frontman Alex Varkatzas: "As a group of friends playing music, our main goal is to grow and spread our brand of metallic rock around the world. We try to progress and grow on each album we record. We feel that Hollywood Records is the perfect place to continue to grow while maintaining our freedom to do whatever the hell we want with our songs. We look forward to our future with Hollywood. They have shown a real interest in us for quite a while. To put it simply, they are down for us and we are down for them."

ATREYU's third album, "A Death-Grip On Yesterday", has sold more than 210,000 copies since its late March release.

The CD follows up the group's 2002 release, "The Curse".

... they were going to sign with a big guy sooner or later. My guess is As I Lay Dying or Killswitch will be next. Who knows.

Isn't Hollywood Records a Disney label?

So they will share the label with metal greats such as Hilary Duff and Regis Philbin.

Well, at least they're not deluding themselves into thinking they're metal. Now if only i can convince their FANS that they aren't metal...

...I hate Atreyu but I'm surprised they only sold 210, 000 copies considering where they debuted and how well "The Curse" did. I would have to say Victory screwed up promoting the latest disc (I believe there was only one single). I wouldn't buy this CD, but even I can say they outplay almost the entire roster of Victory Records live.

Ummn no. Darkest Hour, Between The Buried and Me and Dead To Fall are all better than Atreyu.
