Y&T
Metallica
Yngwie Malmsteen
Victory

For Whom The Bell Tolls is the only song we've seen. It's an MTV production. Someone needs to pull an Ocean's Eleven on the HBO vaults and MTV vaults so we can see this shit.

Seriously lars, I know you will read this sir , and the last album i have stuck in my head is St anger , and in order for that to change can you leak some info in regards to when a new album featuring Robert Trujillo on bass will drop. The only band accessible on the net right now more then you guys is Guns n Replacements, can't you guys bust out another JIts or something? And you also know by surfing metpage and metfuk that this video concept was around in 2004 in the dvd trading circles .

I am really baffled why you went this route. And one more thing the artwork for the case sucks , you could have had Calib (spawn) from Metcoverart.com make you a better one for a fraction of the cost.

All things aside Happy holidays , and keep it Metal

The reason there's nothing during the Cliff era on there is because they didn't shoot music videos then. I'm gonna pick this up just so I can watch them on high quality with good sound, and not on some crappy Youtube box.

i am saying this knowing i will get slammed for saying it but hey it's my opinion. i like the 90's metallica over the 80's. just look at the album sales i am not alone. the new stuff has out sold the old stuff by a long shot. as for metallica selling out. if someone came to your workplace and offered you 3-4 times the money you are making to change the way you do your job, would u? of course you would. that's what james and gang did. it's not selling out it's money wise.

Yes, I vastly prefer old Metallica, but seriously all the bitching about how they are "sell-outs" has to stop. This is all I've heard from metalheads since the Black Album, and I've heard it so many times that it's tired by now.

I am glad the band are putting this collection out... almost every other metal band has a similar set out, from Iron Maiden's "Visions of the Beast," Anthrax's "No Hit Wonders," to Judas Priest's set. Nobody bitched about them, though...

As per watching the videos on Youtube... Wow, you fooled the system guys! Congratulations, except that Google bought Youtube and in a year the site is pretty much going to be gutted out of all copyrighted material and, I predict, pretty soon all submitted videos will have to be pre-screened. But yeah, enjoy your free Metallica videos for about six months... you rule. Seriously.

Way back in the day they did not want to do music videos.. Fear of lookig like sellouts... They did not need MTV to make money, and become the best metal band on the planet. Now I guess since they suck so bad it's ok.. You need music videos when you put out songs that are just plain crap. From kings of thrash to trash, my how the mighty have fallen...

in fact madonna has a great stage show. make fun of me if you will but she can out perform many of todays and yesterdays acts. and no i don't like christina a.

i never said i didn't like the old metallica, i just stated i perfered the newer stuff.

as for selling out you can look at it many different ways. come on did Pantera (who i love) sell out when they put out Cowboys From Hell. did they sell out becuase they quit glam rock. hum i do have a point there.

go's back to making some money. eveybody wants to line their pockets. if that wasn't true i would give up my office job and become a door greeter at wal-mart.

thing is it is kind of hard to pay the bills playing clubs year round when you can sell albums and play arena's a few months out of the year.

look at green day. do you think they sold out also.

i do agree with you to a point and all and don't take me all 100% serious as i am busting your chops a bit. i kind of view it as survival throw the times.

even kiss had to go disco to make it thru the late 70s to early 80s. if they hadn't we wouldn't have revenge or cos from them which are among my favs from them.

listen to the stones. they changed thru the times.

i just think rock would be pretty boring if they didn't change it up a bit. who wants to have 20 different versions of kill'em all.

once again think about my pantera example. if they wouldn't have "sold out" as you call it then we wouldn't have any of their kick azz ablums from the 90's.

you can look at AC/DC also. come on did you ever listen to their early stuff. fraternity was horrible. did you expect bon scott to pay "nick nack paddle wack" forever.

the way you view it anyone that wants to better themselves is selling out. anyone who is trying to pay the bills is selling out.

i talked to john corabi a few years ago and we were talking bout all the tribute albums he has been particapating on. do you think he was selling out because he was trying to put food on his table. he hates them deep down.

have a good one

i agree with you bout the selling out. who cares and stop the whining. who knows maybe james is like charlie watts (stones) and really has his heart in jazz but went to 80s metallica rock to put his children thru school.

that did blow my mind when i read that about watts. he has been with the stones all these years and really doesn't care for rock music. heck even peter criss perfers tony bennett over rock.

i think it's great that you dig the old stuff better thats fine and all. but i am not gonna bash you because you and i disagree.

who cares music is music. no one can tell me that they haven't heard some top 40 song at one point in their life and said hum that's catchy, not bad.

i admit it. i saw britny spears (with my nieces) one night and then 3 nights later saw damageplan "awesome". did i care that their was 15,000 people chanting britany and over 150 screaming for a dime solo. no. to each his own.

i am not gonna push my kids or neices into any type of certain music because thats what i like. let them decide what makes them feel good.

i can have bonnie raitt in my cd player one day and the next have the latest sevendust.

it's all good.

Metallica died in a bus crash in 1986! Now what we have are a bunch of record industry robot clones of James, Lars and Kirk posing as "Metallica".

And this version of Metallica MUST remove the word "metal" from their name. They have no choice, and they will obey.

after reading your comment
"but still, the moost respected are the ones who according to you put out the same album 20 times..."
i think maybe you misunderstood what i wrote. i didn't write anything near that.
i wrote
"i just think rock would be pretty boring if they didn't change it up a bit. who wants to have 20 different versions of kill'em all."

my bottom line is that i like all types of music. i am extremely diverse. we are know diversity is where the power is. thing is i am far from narrow minded and i am open to changes. many are not and that is what cracks me up. why can't someone change their style. with the way the music world is today do you think metallica would have survived during the 90's? how knows? no one can answer that question.

i am a huge aerosmith fan. i love their 70's stuff. i like about half of what they put out now. i don't care for their amazing and crazy and cryin' like tunes. but they had to change to survive. i still buy all their new stuff cause about 50% of it rocks, better than nothing.

i agree with you 100% on the covers garage music stuff. it is not what i am into. and the rehab bit. some kind of monster. don't appeal to me. but i could care less bout there rehab problems i like the music (minus the covers of course).

you might agree with me on this one. i think the some kind of monster rehab bit was all part of a marketing scam due to poor sales of st anger. i personally dislike the guys in metallica i think lars is a joke and james has a ego problem but i still like there music. i bet a high % of the bands out there if you meet them are azzes.

my fav. KISS, can tee me off sometimes. gene just keeps pushing the marketing of more and more kiss stuff. yet my basement is full of kiss stuff. haven't bought much lately cause i am starting to realize he is going overboard. but then again you can't blame the man for wanting to make money.

as for the pre-pantera stuff it shocked me that you like power metal. i have no problem with that. i think it's ok. the three before it, metal magic, projects, and into the night well i don't care much for. i'll keep them in my collection not sure why.

i can somewhat see you point bout bands needing to change names but then again why just drop a household name. i agree it may not be 100% fair to the fans.

Some people here in the Blabbermouth posts are just complaining about the bands over and ver again. Let´s face it, Metallica is a band that has a great and unique fan base around the world. I started to listening to the their music in my early teens and it caught me forever. It´s a band that can do anything they wanna do and if you don´t it, then go to another band of your choice. It´s very interesting and neccesary a ¨Videology¨ from them, very essential and for those that dislikes Metallica´s videos and anything around it, just go. If Metallica sold out, it´s their problem, their decision and their money, PERIOD. !!!!. Cheers to Lars, Rob, James and Kirk from here, VENEZUELA, the South American Doors.

Just an advise to the ´Tallica boys: you need to give us, your real fans, an excelent album; with excelent rocking and thrashing songs. Rick Rubin will help with that, I´m sure about that!!! and you need to do a gig, like a reunion, with Jason Newkid, Rob Mc Govney and, of course, Dave ¨Megaman¨ Mustaine. All that guys really rules!!! Go ahead boys, we´re all waiting for the new record. Venezuela Loves You!!!!.
