SMASHING PUMPKINS: New Demos Leaked?

According to MTV.com, four supposed SMASHING PUMPKINS demo tracks have been making the rounds on numerous file-sharing web sites — but the authenticity of the tunes remains to be seen. The songs — "Collapsing Cities", "The Restless Word", "Siam Mais" and "In the Eyes Beholding" — were leaked as "The Baker Demos". The reunited band has been working with producer Roy Thomas Baker (QUEEN, THE CARS) on their forthcoming comeback LP. But some fans doubt the songs are true PUMPKINS cuts, as the vocals allegedly sound nothing like those of frontman Billy Corgan. A spokesperson for the band's management could not be reached for comment.

If the vocals sound nothing like Billy Corgan then it probably isn't Billy Corgan. Anyone can give any old song a name and put it on file-sharing programs. Record labels do it with their artists. They just give 10 or so blank audio files the appropriate titles.

the vocals are always and always have been put on. listen to billys' cover of number of the beast. not a nasal note.
so it wouldnt suprise me if he's ditched it.

The Smashing Pumpkins are a great band and Billy is one hell of a musician. Siamese Dream was the first album I ever remember buying and I'm a huge Pumpkins fan to this day. I can't wait to hear their new album and see them live when the time rolls around

i'll wait to hear the real deal. i hope at least james iha comes back. maybe the pumpkins aren't METAL, but the band did write some great songs.

why do they need Iha back? The Pumpkins' classic album is Siamese Dream and Corgan played everything but the drums on it.

Corgan has the most fragile voice, it's just weird that he turned out to be a singer. I grew up listening to smashing pumpkins so im still a fan. The same reason that people still listen to iron maiden even though they are corny as hell.
I think this album is going to SUCK! The problem is that Corgan became a jesus freak a while back and everyone knows that religion and rock don't mix.
