RIDE THE SKY Signs With NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS - Dec. 18, 2006
RIDE THE SKY, the new band featuring ex-HELLOWEEN drummer and MASTERPLAN founder Uli Kusch alongside ex-TEARS OF ANGER/BEYOND TWILIGHT singer Bjørn Jansson and Benny Jansson on guitar, has signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

"We're very happy that RIDE THE SKY has inked a deal with the label that has brought up so many great bands in the past years," states Uli. "We're looking forward to a creative cooperation with Nuclear Blast!" Jansson adds, "We are extremely proud about being part of the Nuclear Blast roster and together with Uli Kusch, our songwriting will take us to a whole new dimension."

RIDE THE SKY is currently writing songs for its upcoming debut album. The recording will be self-produced in the band's own studio (Monsterclan Studios N&S) with the help of a co-producer. Negotiations are currently underway with various parties regarding the mix.

RIDE THE SKY's debut album will be released around August/September 2007.

Ride the Sky?

There's a GREAT band from the 70s- first couple albums ruled called Crack The Sky.

The "Ride the Sky" band name sounds too much like a copy cat name of the original "Crack the Sky"

It's like naming your band instead of "The Grateful Dead," "The Thankful Dead"

COMMENT | should have named it....

What the two guys at the top of the posts have been smoking, talking about Roadrunner signing shitty bands... cuz this particular band (Ride The Sky) has signed to NUCLEAR BLAST Records, not Roadrunner. Reading is fundamental, kiddos.

(Although I agree with the sentiment... the only worthwhile signing Roadrunner has made in dog years has been Megadeth...)

As for Ride The Sky, well, good luck to 'em but I wonder if the rest of the Helloween guys are gonna try and block Uli from using one of their song titles as the band name. Come ON Uli, you weren't even IN Helloween when they recorded "Ride The Sky," what makes you think you can borrow it without their permission?

I'm done!

DUde, a band name doesn't even matter really. Just as long as the music is killer who cares. But I guess if you have nothing better going in your life then you can argue about a band name, it might actually bring meaning to some of your guys' existence.

Nuclear blast has a ton of awesome bands, so I will definately be checking this band out.
