QUIET RIOT Drummer Mourns Passing Of JAMES BROWN

QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali has posted the following message on his official web site:
"Very sad news on this Christmas day 2006 with the passing of Mr. James Brown. Truly another giant in the world of music. It is impossible to calculate all of his monumental contributions.
"James Brown's music has always been a great influence in my drumming. As a songwriter he formed the basis for some of the greatest grooves, the deepest pockets and funk unequaled. A truly original singer and one of a kind. His impact on popular music history in remarkable and immeasurable.
"May God rest your soulful soul, Mr. Brown."

I had Backstage/Meet & Greet passes for his show in Vancouver next month. I was looking forward to it for the past few months. Too bad, It would have been an unforgetable experience.
RIP JAMES BROWN.
This man is Truely A Legend.
He did more for music than 99.99% of musicians alive today.

I was debating to get tix to BB kings on the eve - 24th to see him and poof* he was gone the next morning. Now my Godmother and him share the same passing date. ~Sux.

JB was the Godfather of Soul but let's not forget he was a convicted wife beater, drug abuser and another example of someone who thought he was above the law because he was famous.

Damn that sucks. "The Payback" is the only song I have ever karaoked to. So thanks James, for influencing a white kid from the midwest, after having a few whiskey and waters in him, to grab the mic and make an ass of himself in the name of soul. You will be missed. Peace brotha.
