COREY TAYLOR: No 'Serious' SLIPKNOT Activity Planned Before 2008 - Jan. 9, 2007
STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor has told MTV.com that the band's current success means he and guitarist Jim Root won't be able to devote their energy to SLIPKNOT until early 2008. While this seems to contradict percussionist M. Shawn Crahan's claim that the 'KNOT would be writing together next fall or early summer, Taylor said he never planned to do much with the band in 2007.

"I just don't see anything serious happening until the beginning of early 2008," he reiterated. "But that was my plan from the get-go. Between recording and touring for 'Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses', we spent two and a half years, and that period was just so f---in' crazy that you kind of have to give it at least that much equal time to settle down and get the interest back up."

STONE SOUR is planning on filming a video soon for its new single, "Sillyworld". The band plans to hire an animator for the clip, which Taylor hopes will be a cross between PINK FLOYD's "The Wall" and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's video for "Go With the Flow". "There will be a little principal photography, but mostly it'll be animated," Taylor said. "We definitely want to do something that fits with the different themes of the song, but at the same time is really cool to watch."

Taylor said that he has a director in mind for "Sillyworld", but the deal hasn't yet been sealed. He added that STONE SOUR won't stop at three singles. While "Sillyworld" is making the rounds in the U.S., "Socio" will be released in Europe, and if the European single and video do well, they will likely be released here in the future. Also, Taylor wants to cap off the "Come What(ever) May" crusade with "Zzyzx Rd.", which should hit radio and video outlets in late 2007.

Although 'Knots success has been big , it hasnt detracted from the message that they have . I agree with too much of a good thing can be bad , and goddamn 2 1/2 years with the same people day in day out is gonna get boring ....like afine wine lets hope the gap between slipknot seasons reaps the rewards ...

BRING IT ON !!!!

Slipknot>all of you.

I enjoy how all the bashers sit at their computers and make fun of all these bands (slipknot, bullet for my valentine, trivium..and so on) while they would most likely SLAY all you guys at what they do, if a band made it as big as these bands have, they must be doing something right, because they made it bigger than all of you ever will.

There is a simple explanation to all of this.
STONE SOUR is doing great right now.

---that being said,

The new CD from SS is doing well, they're touring with Evanescence (cash cow) and in all honesty IMO, the 2nd CD surpasses the first one hands down.

As for Slipknot, fuck the detractors. I'll have an order for the latest live SK dvd on my next pack-order.

In the meantime... VOIVOD RULES

Corey is too busy concentrating on the amazingly boring (To me anyway) material of their Stone Sour project. I watched a video of theirs awhile back where Corey was singing a ballad into the camera. I wanted to vomit. You know Mick and Joey are laughing their asses off at him. Having said that, the guy can do what he wants, it's just very comical seeing him trying to follow in the footsteps of Nickelback in the video for that song. Please wake me when you're back in Slipknot Corey...

Volume 3 was pretty disappointing. Honestly, I held off on buying it and shouldn't have at all. If the next Slipknot CD is similar to Volume 3, I don't care if it ever comes out. If you haven't seen them live by now, it's too late. They aren't the same crazy fuckers they once were.

obviously nu-metal is dying or already dead, it would make sense that this band would follow in its footsteps. Thank God.

Good. The longer they stay away before they make another album of pure mallcore drivel, the better.

Barely any of the original Slipknot fans are around because of how much they changed. Its a constant strive to stay underground for some. I personally like all the Slipknot albums while I dont know if they could ever top the self titled.
