MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP: New Lineup Revealed? - Jan. 14, 2007
According to a posting on the web site of International Concert Service GMBH (ICS), the management/booking company of MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, MSG's lineup is as follows:

Michael Schenker - Guitar
Jari Tiura - Vocals
Wayne Findlay – Keyboards, Guitar
Bodo Schopf - Drums
Barry Sparks - Bass

Bodo was a drummer of MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP and Barry played bass on "Written in the Sand" and several MSG live releases. However, it has yet to be officially confirmed if this is the lineup of MSG that will play Japan next month.

ICS has also announced on its web site that Michael Schenker's last tour has been nominated for the "Live Entertainment Award 2007" in the category of "Best Club Tour". This award recognizes distiguished achievements in live entertainment and is given out by Live Entertainment Award (LEA) committee. The winners will be announced on February 15.

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP upcoming tour dates:

Feb. 25 - Tokyo, JPN @ Nagona Sunplaza
Feb. 26 - Tokyo, JPN @ Shibuya AX

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP released "Tales of Rock 'n' Roll", a special CD to celebrate the band's 25-year anniversary, on August 1 via Locomotive Records. The CD contains Michael Schenker's signature riffage on new cuts featuring an all-star assembly of singers who have recorded with Schenker over the past quarter-century: Graham Bonnet, Gary Barden, Robin McAuley, Kelly Keeling, Leif Sundin, Chris Logan and Michael's most recent vocalist, Jari Tiura. UFO's Pete Way chips in with bass for this special occasion and RACER X vocalist Jeff Martin is behind the kit.

The way Schenker's been of late, this article should really say "this is the line up for the tour dates that Schenker will abruptly cancel" to truly be accurate.

Why the Hell does he replace Rev Jones (who is an amazing bass player) and keep that lousy singer Jari? He butchered their songs this summer.

Rev has told it the way it is. I read his recent interview c/o Blabbermouth with interest. He clearly won't be asked to play with MS again unless MS swallows big humble pie. A top guitar player needs to lay off the booze before a gig unless you're playing punk rhythm guitar!

Wish Stu Hamm would join permanently, but Barry is just as good. Rev was musically great, but so are those other guys.

Jari is a great singer! Why the slagging?

And why can no one spell 'definitely' properly???
