Darcy Pohland of
WCCO.com reports that the
Minnesota Orchestra is scheduled to perform a special, "one night only" program of the songs of
LED ZEPPELIN at the Target Center in Minneapolis on March 3 at 8 p.m.
Michael Sutton, a violinist with the orchestra, spent most of his work day rehearsing
Schubert, but secretly he's humming a different tune in his head, even though he wasn't sure how the orchestra planned on pulling the concert off when they made their
ZEPPELIN debut last year.
"My reaction was, 'Really? How's that going to work?'" he said, but added once they launched into the music, "everyone was just going nuts. It's a real rush."
Minnesota Orchestra president
Tony Woodcock said the concert is meant to appeal to a broader audience than their usual repertoire.
"A rock group with the backing of a full symphony orchestra is a unique mix of symphonic and rock music," he said.
