IMPALED NAZARENE: 'Nihil' Album Officially 'Banned' In Germany - Feb. 15, 2007
Finnish extreme metallers IMPALED NAZARENE have issued the following update:

"Our album 'Nihil' has officially entered Germany's Index list A on 17th of January. This means that 'Nihil' is officially BANNED in Germany.

"Looking back on 2006 and 2005, being unable to play concerts in Italy, Austria, France, Poland and Germany, one can only conclude that freedom of speech and freedom of religion, things that are supposed to be the foundation of the European Union, are not existing. Your lives are terrorized by deranged catholic sects and glue-sniffing communists. Braindead imbeciles tell you what you should/what you cannot listen to, read or watch. Happy fucking middle ages part 666 and fuck off.

"We have finally been in Sonic Pump studio with Tapio Pennanen to take care of 'Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz' and 'Ugra-Karma' double 10" EP bonus tracks. All the shit you find on them has been taken from original soundboard tapes, been cleaned and mastered." The details are as follows:

"Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz" extra tracks

Side C:

01. Intro: Salve Satanas
02. Condemned To Hell
03. The Crucified
04. The Black Vomit (SARCOFAGO cover)

Both double-vinyl releases will be limited to 300 copies and will be issued via Osmose Productions. The exact release dates will be announced soon.

IMPALED NAZARENE's ninth studio album, "Pro Patria Finlandia" entered the national album chart in Finland at position No. 38 back in March 2006. The CD was issued in North America on April 18 via The End Records.

"Pro Patria Finlandia" was recorded and mixed at Sonic Pump studio with producer Tapio Pennanen and was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox studios. Cover artwork was handled by Ritual. The group had previously described the new material as "fast, brutal as fuck, in-your-face IMPALED NAZARENE."

Un/fortunatly this won't stop ANYBODY from listening to it.

By the way, indexing doesn't mean it's banned. You can still buy and own it legally if you are above 18 years old.

Yes, much like in Ireland, France, etc You can still get the album it is just restricted to an age limit, which I can agree with. Whyy should a 14 year old be able to listen to Impaled Nazarene, Marduk, etc and yet not be able to buy south park the movie on DVD? It should be the same guidelines as other media. I like Impaled Nazarene and I am not homophobic, racist or a nationalist. I just like the music.

It has happened there before and will happen again.

And yes, the US also has laws in place for similar banning and prosecution, and states have banned musical performances, but no, it does not occur federally.

It would be useful to know what other messages/descriptions are in this music besides the anti-reigious ones, as well as what kinds of laws there are regarding this in Scandinavia.

I'm not a person who advocates censorship, but you have to know the law of the land. As far as "glue-sniffing communists" goes, I'm pretty sure Karl Marx said religion was the opiate of the masses. If people are going to say offensive things, that's fine, just don't whine when everyone's not loving what you have to say.

Nothing surprises me anymore. The masses of the world are controlled by radicals from both politcial extremes and of course the wonderful Church. Catholics get away with so much it seems unreal.

Thisnk of it this way. The people who strat wars for profit and use, deceive, cheat and steal from the innocent are revered as wholesome and good. While the people who do absolutely nothing but play music are the oens who are persecuted.

It´s not banned because of religious reasons over here but for reasons of public order and safety. The government wants to protect kids from "products like that".

As a dad of 4 kids, i can say: THIS SUCKS AND IS WORTH SHIT!!!

It only pretends to safe anyone from anything AND it gives parents the feeling that they don´t have to take care of their kids, to spend more time with them and talk with them about music, TV, life and everything.

I makes me mad that even in 2007, governments blame bands, games and movies for things parents did wrong.

That is what this is called. Politcians, parents and religious authority are too arrogant to admitt that they share some fault so they just shove all the blame on Metal bands. Pathetic isnt it?

I'm pretty sure the "President" of Germany is called a Chancelor. And no, I don't think this is that big of a deal to where it would get that much recognition.

But anyway ImpNaz rock, I've got all of their albums and I love their music. I don't agree with their homophobia or extreme intolerance, but the music rocks (very punky) and the misanthropic lyrics are killer. They also have a really dark sense of humour that shines through some of the (non homophobic) lyrics.

Even when they censor stuff I don't agree with, like in this case.
It's fascist and wrong, people must be able to make their own choices.

As the Ramones said:

Tipper, what's that sticker sticking on my CD?
Is that some kind of warning to protect me?
Freedom of choice needs a stronger, stronger voice.
You can stamp out the source, but you
can't stop creative thoughts.

Ah, Tipper come on, ain't you been getting it on?
Ask Ozzie, Zappa or me.
We'll show you what it's like to be free.

Ah, Tipper come on, it's just a smoke
screen for the real problems.
S&L deficit, the homeless, the environment.

Hey, hey all you senators wives.
Better take a good look at your
own lives.
Before you go preaching to me.
You're definitions of obscenity.

Ah, Tipper come on, ain't you been getting it on?
Ask Ozzie, Zappa or me.
We'll show you what it's like to be free.

The irony it semes it seems to me
it's un-American policy.
Yeah, we'e come so far but still only to
find people like you with ignorant minds.

Ah, Tipper come on, ain't you been getting it on?
Ask Ozzie, Zappa or me.
We'll show you what it's like to be free.

Ah, Tipper come on, it's just a smoke
screen for the real problems.

The Deicide cover is from AGES ago, you can find it on the "Dark Day Festifall" live bootleg, together with the Sarcofago one, at that time ImpNaz still used to cal their music "Satanic Death Metal" (as Mika screams into the mike during the gig) so it makes sense.
